September Bandsters!

I couldn't find any one place for everyone banded this month to be able to get together and talk and compare notes, so I thought I'd start a thread...

Since we're all starting the post-op journey together, we can REALLY encourage each other and help everyone in check. :smile2:

Well I got banded today. Was so emotional before I wanted to cry because all I wanted was a bagel! I think I was just overwhelmed. Recovery SUCKED!! I kept throwing up no matter what they gave me. Finally they gave me something really strong a little before I was going home and I went home and slept for 5 hours. A little uncomfortable now but nothing horrible. I'm a little hungry though, but not sure if it is just in my head. Anyway, so glad to have somewhere to go to just spill it to people who get it. Good luck to all!!!:smile2:

Aly that didn't sound like fun at all! You poor thing. They say it gets better. I am still hoping it does. lol just hungry here. It took a week before the soreness finally lightened up. Best of luck! :smile2:

litlkrazykat,

No it was not i did not know what to do with myself. At this point I just hope it does not get worse. It is tolerable right now, but I am sick of chicken broth already! LOL Best of luck to you!!

hey everyone :smile2:

i was just banded yesterday morning. man oh man am i sore! for 48 hours after im supposed to follow the sugar free/clear liquid diet (sugar free Jello, broth, sugar free popsicles) so i start up on my Proteins tomorrow. it was easier than i thought, and the staff at the hospital were amazing. im walking as much as possible but the soreness is in def full effect. i too have some shoulder and neck pain from the hospital bed but im hoping by thursday most of this will begin to fade. i have to be on these proteins for two more weeks before i can begin to eat soft foods. so far so good, good luck everyone!

Me too. Mainly under the port incision. It stops me dead in my tracks and I can't move.

Is anyone else constipated. It will be a week tomorrow :smile2:

I had my surgery on September 14th... Two weeks post op =]

I'm new to this entire thing, any advice? I'm kinda confused.

Hi, I was banded today and can't believe how good I feel! My surgery ended up being at 1:00 and I was discharged by 5:30! I am a little achy but overall feel pretty good!

Christine:thumbup:

So I was feeling hungry and asked my nutritionist for a suggestion. She said I could do clear protein. Oh by the way had surgery 9-28 on clear liguids until next Tuesday. So I added protein to my chicken broth which she said was fine and now I feel like my stomach is going to explode. My hunger did not get much better though. So now I am hungry and uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this? How is everyone else doing by the way? I hope well.

I was banded on 9-21 so sore right now had no idea it would hurt this bad. I really wish i could get this gas pain to go away. I think i will know this is worth it when i see the weight loss. one of my incisions i think is real big will have to ask my doc about that.

I know this stage will pass and all will be well.

I was banded just yesterday and I'm extremely sore just as well. I have an awful gas pain that won't go away but I found out it's only air so hopefully it'll pass soon. And I have one incision that's bigger then all the others, it's in the middle part of my abdomen closest to the port. It looks awful and I'm quite embarrassed by it, hopefully once the swelling goes down and it starts to heal it won't look so bad. But I know what your going through pretty much down do the t. Best of luck to you! B)
