The heat alone doesnt affect my band but if its hot and i dont stay on top of drinking: hydration plays a huge factor . When you dehydrate it causes the stomach to swell causing the band to be tighter . In the summer heat yall you have got to make drinking your water a must !!!!! A well hydrated banster is a happy banster .

melonie got a reaction from electronicart in Just Wondering...At first i would get a little blue because i couldnt eat things i love or what everyone else was eating BUT when the weight started coming off i started feeling power from making wise choices . Going out with friends was kinda a reward to myself i loved people saying wow you look awsome and then when it was time to order and i was eating my food they were like wow i wish i could do that . So turn it around yall make it a positive thing take it to a good place inside of yourself and use it as motivation Look around at what the others are scarfing down and think to yourself not " i cant eat like that or i cant eat that ") but thank god i cant eat that anymore and for that im becoming the healthy person i set out to be .

melonie reacted to Sojourner in Just Wondering...Getting the band is about physical and emotional/psychological adjustments...some people actually go through somewhat of a "mourning" process as they adjust their thinking about food, and have to say "good bye" to it as they initially change their relationship with food. In addition, there are many physical changes we go through...hormones are adjusting, metabolism is adjusting, so many changes that feeling "down" is not uncommon. And the physiological basis for depression is really in imbalance of the neurotransmitters in the brain. No wonder they can get out of balance temporarily with everything that's going on.
The key is that this is temporary as you adjust to your new sense of "normal". These feelings should resolve within a few weeks. If they don't, consider speaking with your surgeon. Oh, and exercise promotes the serotonin and dopamine in the brain...so continue to something active as tolerated, within reason!

melonie got a reaction from indyhandmade in Waking Up In The O.r????Ive had brain surgery , gallbladder , 2 csections, knee surgery , hand surgery , the band , a port redo , and a hysto and donated a kidney , never not one time have i woke up in surgery . I think it is depending on what type of surgery sometimes they dont put people under as far depending on the time they alot for the surgery . Sooooooo relax and get excited , if you ponder all the what ifs its just gonna cause stress your gonna do great and have a life time of success ahead of you If you catch your self thinking about it simply try to focus on your after surgery recovery making sure the house is tidy , you have everything youll need at home during recovery and tieing up lose ends . Sending prayers your way

melonie reacted to Jim1967 in Band RegretI am not a big fan of journaling especially writing stuff by hand. I find myfitnesspal very useful and easy. You can get it on a smartphone as well and you can use the phone as a bar code scanner and scan food products directly.

melonie reacted to AlienBandit in Is It Possible To Have This Surgery And Not Need To Have Plastic Surgery?I had plastics done but I could have survived without it. The extra sin and such I had wasnt hanging or causing infections but I did not find my body attractive and I didnt like the skin waving and such.M
My plastics was a now or never thing because I won't be able to be in this country again where the price is lower so I just went for it.
