How often do you get stuck???

Recommended Posts

Would like to know from the bandsters "at their sweet spot," how frequent are your stuck episodes? I think that I am actually pretty restricted right now as I can get stuck easily and I know it's happening too frequently. I know that it is resulting from eating too fast/too big of bites. It has just not "sunk in" for me that I am to this point. It's only been a week or so since my last fill/unfill, and I am still surpised when I can't eat something. I will learn, maybe I'm looking for a hard knock here to jolt me into reality that I have to be more careful. I know that frequent stuck episodes is not good for the band and can lead to complications. I also feel that I have varying degrees of "stuck." Sometimes it's just a feeling and I stop eating and then it subsides within a few minutes and it's painless. Problem is, when it goes away, I still feel like eating more. Is that actually a full feeling that I am mis-reading? I can't say that I feel very satisfied, though. Other times it's a full on, got to "get it out" feeling accompanied with all the slime, etc. That has happened about 4-5 times this past week. I have also found that without all the food I am eating traveling to my lower stomach at once, the "full" feeling I am used to really does not exist anymore. Do you find that is true for you as well? I think there was a thread on here about "what does full feel like?" maybe I need to gain some insight into that, too!

I had my third fill on 8-27 and I am at 5.66cc's now and I think I am finally at good restriction. I have been stuck about 3 or 4 times since then where I actually had to vomit to feel better. I also get that feeling sometimes when I am eating where it kind of feels stuck but like you I believe it is that signal that enough is enough one more bite and you are over the limit. I am learning to listen to this and not eat not even one more bite and then I am fine. I have lost 10lbs since my last fill which is awesome so when I go back on the 6th I don't think I will need any more at this time. Good luck on your journey and learn to listen to your body and you will be fine and also, CHEW CHEW CHEW AND SMALL PIECES!!!!

Yes, I no longer feel full in my abdomen. It's more of a satisfied feeling now. I often still want to eat MORE, but my band says un uh.. no way. She who must be obeyed is in charge.. LOL

Jen - I think I know that feeling about eating one more bite. Last night I had a small sensation of that stuck feeling and I stopped eating right away. It was great that it all subsided and I realized I really was not hungry anymore. It is about listening differently to our stomachs, now! I do think that is the cue to stop!!! Melissa - I think I also wanted to eat more which was contributing to my stuck episodes. I too am learning to obey her heiness, the band! I guess I am a bit like one of Pavlov's dogs right now...I am getting trained to stop eating or suffer!:rolleyes2:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
