4 day post op and running a fever

I was baned on the 14th and yesterday I woke up with a fever of 102.2. I felt awful. I went in and had a ct scan, The MD stated that I had a touch of pneumonia:cursing:. Did any one else get pneumonia after surgery? When did you go back to work? I am so excited to be on the path to recover. I look forward to doing it with you all.

Its a normal post-op health issue with sensitive people. You lay down naked almost 1,5 hours. Its normal. I am glad its not because of your wound being infected.

Were you sick before the surgery? Did you have a runny nose or cough?

No I was fine before surgery, I felt great. But after thinking about they had a hard time getting me a room after surgery so the kept me on a bed in a flat position for 8 hours. I complained of chest pain when I took a deep breath in the hospital and they told me it was gas pain. But now I know what was really going on. Well at least I'm feeling better now

Is your fever down? Take special care of this. Lot's of people can have major issues with pneumonia.

the fever is gone for the last 6 hours with meds so I hope it stays away. It was awful to have the shakes and sweats with post opt pain

Yes, He did a CT that when they found the pneumonia. Of course the fever happen in the middle of the night so i had to weight until the morning to find out what was going on.

From what they told me when I was in the hospital it seems to be a pretty common thing for people to come down with pneumonia after surgery.

They wanted me to take something to prevent it when I was being discharged but it would have taken them another hour to get the meds so I passed. I had already stayed overnight and waited all morning for them to release me I was ready to be out of there.

I hope you feel better soon.
