How long after surgery did you see yout doctor?

Recommended Posts

I had my banding done on the 2nd August and discharged the following morning without setting eyes on my doctor, oh I lie, I glimpsed him in the corridor. I will not be seeing him till the 14th of September, which seems an awfully long time. I suppose I will get a fill then. Has that been your experience?

No, I was banded last Thursday the 26th and I have my first follow up appointment this Tuesday the 31st. That is a really long time, what about your dressings and stitches? I know mine will be taken out at my appointment on Tuesday.

I dont know, the nurses just told us the bandages would fall off and I think the stitches are disolvable. I just think that Australian hospitals are the pits. And they call us The Lucky Country!!!

I was banded May 6th, as outpatient surgery, and had a follow-up appointment the next day for a post-op check with the doctor. I did not have any bandages and my doc uses dermadona instead of stitches, so there was nothing to remove. I had my first fill 4 weeks after surgery.

Hope this helps...

Michelle

I saw my doctor 2 weks after surgery and every 2 weeks after that for the first 3 months. I also attend support group at his office and he is always there. Now I see him once a month or if I need to see him for an emergency I can call and see him or someone at the practice within an hour any time days, nights, or weekends.

Every doctor has different follow up times. I saw my doc 2 times the same day after my surgery, the day after my surgery and then every week for the first month after my surgery.

Now I see him once every 2 weeks, for check up, fills etc.

I was banded on August 17 and went the next day for an x-ray. I see the dietician and doctor on Sept 2 and I believe two weeks after that for a fill.

I think I saw him the night of the surgery, and know for sure I saw him the following morning before discharge. The next week, I saw his nurse coordinator (just getting sutures removed), but I've seen him for every appointment since. They've been from 3-6 weeks apart.

I was banded on 8/9 and saw my doctor the next day before I was discharged. I saw him 2 weeks after surgery and I'm set to see him every 2 weeks that for the first 3 months.

My surgery was August 27th & my follow up appt. is September 8th. He will do my first fill then. I dont know what size band i got. I'll find that out at my appt. He did tell me that i need to find out from BCBS if they will cover the first fill by Flouroscopy. Thats how he prefers to do the first one. But if not then he said thats not a problem. I also found out that my first year of fill is included in the surgery price unless i need/want additional fills not required during the first year. He is an absolutely wonderful doctor. He was very involved with the whole process with me from the very beginning.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
