Outrageous Octobers

Recommended Posts

Well I can't believe this friday is Oct 1st!! The anticipation is finally coming true lol! A lil nervous but I know I made the right decision. Well the preop is ok..

I'm doing 3-4 shakes a day using Bariatric Advantage and Premier and mixing it with a strawberry or banana, ice, sugar free Toriani Syrup, and sometimes Splenda Hazelnut flavored. puddings are good too.. and I like mixing Jello with it.. Also.. I can have V8,broth and a lil cream so I heat them all up together so it's more like a Soup.. which gives you the salty satisfaction..

However, I feel like my bodies retaining Water from all the sodium in these products and the amount of liquid. I'm really not losing much weight (I am a lower BMI) .. I only have to lose 5 lbs on my preop however for just being on liquids I would expect more... Oh well though I trust my doc I'm doing the right thing .. Good luck to all of you and where you're at in your journey!

Charm1123 I will be joining you on the same day, we are all in this together, so let's keep everyone in our thoughts. I just started my second week of pre-opt and I have lost 11 lbs. already, and I really am not hungry on this schedule. 2 shakes and one 350 to 400 cal. meal, I must have 60 gms. of Protein every day.

All my friends keep asking aren't you hungry yet, and I not, I really am not. lol

soulsista, don't be nervous about going under. you will be just fine, I was very nervous the first time I went under the only weird part is that your there waiting one minute and then they are waking you up, and you don't even know what happened. that is the weird part:drool:

Hey kids. It's been ruff the last two days. I had the colon and endo today. Yesterday and most of today it was no Protein Drinks. I was a little hungry and VERY dizzy and sick to my stomach. I'm better this evening. Another ol' lady joining us. Great and welcome. Soulsista, I think you are the first. I'll be with you in thought as I am sure all of us will be thinking of you tomorrow. I wanted to write everyones date down so I could pray for them. If I forgot someone I am sorry. I say an extra pray just incase.

I am new to the forum, so please excuse me if I ever post in the wrong thread etc. Hopefully I will get the hang of this forum stuff :smile2:

Today was day ONE of my 14 day pre-op diet:

Starting Weight: 190.4

BMI: 33.8

Surgery Date: 10/15/10

Surgeon Information (Dr. Hollis / Houston)

What I ate today:

1 20oz bottle of Isopure Punch

3 oz Turkey Jerky

1 Myoplex Low Carb shake

1 Crystal Light Focus Drink Mix (w/ Caffeine)

1 Crystal Light Pure added to Smart Water

1 Medium Sonic Unsweet Tea with Lime

1 sugar-free Jello (not pictured)

Water, Water, Water

Total:

520 calories / 113 grams Protein / 11 grams carbs

Thoughts:

I feel excited and nervous about everything (weight-loss related) right now. Today's pre-op diet pretty much sucked. In fact, I feel a little nauseated. I am not really hungry but feel a little unsatisfied. I am trying hard to stay focused on the big picture and not get bogged down in all the little details. My stomach already feels flatter - emptier.

I have 13 more days to go.

I am looking forward to meeting others on in this group!

XOXO:thumbup:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
