What do I need to take along to the hospital?

Hi.

My surgery is on Monday morning.

In your experience, what do I need to take along to the hospital?

I should be able to go home the same day, not staying overnight.

You should be asleep is you have surgery in the morning! Be sure and take a pillow to hold up against your tummy for the ride home. I walked around for days with a pillow pressed up on my tummy. It helps with pain alot. Also I would take some chewable gasX and take some right after surgery.

Yes - we need these recommendations because neither one of those two things are on the NYU list.

- a robe

- slippers

That was it :smile2:

Wear something loose fitting like jammies or sweats and slip-on shoes. That is all you need. That is all I took and it worked out great.

Congratulations on your surgery! Like everyone recommended, just some light sweats and slippers, pillow, and gas x. If you have Asthma, take your inhaler, I forgot mine and needed a couple of breathing treatments after the anesthesia.

Gas-X Strips definitely! Comfortable PJ pants/comfy shirt. Slippers or flip flops. Maybe a book/iPod whatever if you're one who needs entertainment.
