almost 4 weeks after surgery. Allowed to take a bath?
I'm wondering if I'm allowed to take a bath. I'm really in the mood to sit into a bubble jaccuzi bath. I have huge migranes the last few days. I need to relax. On my discharge papers from the hospital it said 3 to 4 weeks no bathing. I'm 3 weeks and 4 days after surgery. What do you say?

is what I'm feeling restriction?
Hey fellow Bandsters. I hope you are all doing well. My surgery was almost 2 weeks ago. I do feel great, it took me a lil over a week to recover and now its as if I never had surgery. When my band was placed my surgeon filled it with 2cc. Yesterday I had my esophogram, drank Barium(wasn't as bad as ppl described it). Everything looked great, so I got the green light to start mushies. Its all going down well, and I get satisfied much much faster then b4 surgery. I ate 1 and half scrambled egg with a little cooked squash, more than 4 hours ago and I am still as satisfied as if I just ate. Its great. In my pre band times, I would've eaten already again a few times in this amount of time. Its great to not feel hungry. I'm an emotional eater. And now that I'm satisfied with the little that I eat i cant turn to food, so I am forced to deal with it in other ways. It's great. I got aware of it today. Its such a great feeling. Anyways, back to the point. Is what I'm feeling restriction???

Had the band in for three weeks, considering removal.. advice?
Hey Veleda. I am so sorry that you'r going through this. What you'r describing definitely does not sound normal. I have been banded for almost 10 days now. I have had surgery pain like gas and incision pain, just one incision hurt me. Today I feel good, pretty much back to myself, besides of the one incision in my bellybutton hurting a little bit. I ate something that I wasn't supposed to 5 days post op. It was soft, but still I got stuck on it. For 8 hours. (I have 2 cc's in my band) I was in pain, food was coming up and trying to go down through my band up and down... It was sooooooo uncomfortable, I couldn't lie down, couldn't drink, nothing went down. I could almost not drink coz it took ages to go down , it came up and down... It took 3 days for my so very swollen stomach and all the tubes around to calm itself and swelling to go down. I thought that I have a slip. T"G I don't. It might be that you'r swollen. Discuss it with your surgeon. I feel your pain. It's hard to feel all that you do. Be strong. I hope that it will all work out for you, and that the band will work for you. We'r here for you whenever you need us. Best regards.

does everyone feel restriction already a few days post op?
Hi. I was banded 07/26 and i think I've got restriction. I ate a piece of soft but sticky cheesecake yesterday, and 3 pieces of herring too and guess what, I got stuck on it for 7 hours. That was a good lesson for me, not to do that again and stick to my full liquid post op diet for the first 10 days after surgery. Is what I felt normal due to post op condition, or am I lucky and have restriction? I have 2cc in my 10cc band. I hope this is restriction, sice I would love to loose already and not wait till I'm filled 6cc or 7cc like most ppl. Thanx u guys, good luck to everyone!

Banded yesterday! Yay!
Hello my fellow Bandsters, Yesterday was the big day for me. I had to be at NYU at 6:30 am. I was waiting untill after 8 to be taken in by a nurse. My surgery wasnt untill approx. 10:45am I went in to the operating room, I was sooo nervous and scared. Everyone was really nice there, they saw that I was nervous. They calmed me down and were very gentle, untill the stuff through IV made me loose control. I tried to fight it...but it was stronger than me. I woke up 1 hour later in the PACU. My throat hurt and my lips were so dty. They rightawy offered me a cup of ice chips, it was the best treat. I was really confused when I woke up. I wanted my DH to come to me, but they didnt let him stay for more than 5 minuts. I dozed off again for 40 minuts. I felt my incision, only the one in the belly botton. (I had the SILS) Around 1:45 I was finally taken up to a recovery room, where I finally got to see my DH that I so desperatly needed by my side. I didnt really have bad gas pains, just slightly. It was deffenatly bothered more by my incision pain. I kept on drinking and drinking. I thought that I didnt have the band put in, everything went down so easy. I have 2 cc's in my band already. I didnt start walking around untill aprox 3 or 4oclock. I didnt have the strength. I was shaky when I got onto my feet. But very soon I got udsed to it and actually walking helped me slowly to get back to myself. Before they discharge you, you have to pee a certain amount. I just couldnt pee, as much as I had the urge to I couldnt. They took a sonogram of my bladder. It was full. It sometimes happens the nurse said, that the Anesthesia causes you not to be able to go to the loo. Only after 9pm did I finally manage to empty my bursting bladder. I was so happy that they finally let me go home. Most of the women on the floor went home already severall hours before. It was great to go home. I must say I didnt expect it all to be the way it was. I was afraid of the gas pains which I thankfully didnt suffer from. I guess everyone is different. All in all it was a great experience!:scared2: Today I had 3 plates of Soup, 1 snapple and 1 ices and I feel stuffed. I guess I am banded. I am looking forward to see the numbers on the scale running down. I wish all of you the best! Any questions that you have I would be very happy to answer.

What do I need to take along to the hospital?
Hi. My surgery is on Monday morning. In your experience, what do I need to take along to the hospital? I should be able to go home the same day, not staying overnight.

afraid that surgery wont work for me...
Over the weekend negative thoughts came over me. I'm on day 6 of my liquid preop diet. Surgery scheduled for 07/26. Somehow I'm starting to think that the band will not work on me. I like real food. I dont really have a thing for sweets. I like Pastas, Breads, Pizza, all kinds of starches. I'm not into cakes , candys , ice creams and chocolats usually dont drink sweet drinks. So am I worried for nothing,If I dont like things that slide through the band? Does someone here like the same that I do and was successfull with the band?
