I couldn't be more excited. Since I work in the OR, I am comfortable with going in. I have been on clean liquids since yesterday and I am starving. Of course, not really starving but it feels like it. Getting ready to get in the shower then head off to the hospital. Eeeekkkkkk! (girly scream)

Say a prayer for me today!

Muddie

I am up! So my mom, hubby, cousin and neice arrived at the day surgery desk of the hospital at 5:15 as scheduled however there wasn't anybody to check us in until 5:30. No sweat of of my back.

Checked in, gowned and sitting in bed while my pre-op nurse comes in to tell me that my 7:15 surgery is delayed due to an emergency case who spent all night in the SICU and needs immediate attention. No big deal again. They move me to a private room verses a curtain partitioned room. My boss calls me via the pre-op nurse phone just to tell me she is thinking of me. This is sweet because she and I work in a hospital across town and she made some calls to find me! 12ish, the CRNA comes back and tells me it is almost my turn. Whew! I liked her, I really did like her. She came recommended to me and let's face it....I wasn't having just anybody monitor me while I was under anesthesia. That stuff is what scares the crap out of me. Around 12:30 I got some versed and by 1:00 it was lights out for me! I woke up around 2:00 and with terrible nausea and gas pains. Made it home but don't remember the ride. Slept, walked and pee'd until around 8ish. Now I am awake. Still no incision pain, just gas. Deep breathing exercises for me.

Now, I just am excited to start getting my old life back. Before the fat, I was thin. Here I come!

Thanks for the prayers ladies!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
