Yesterday was the big day! I can't believe it is behind me now. I'm quite sore, but already so much better today than yesterday. Yesterday my left shoulder was my worst complaint (as I've heard many times and thought I was prepared for). Felt like someone had vice grips on my trapezoid muscle! Man, it really hurt. Today it is hardly anything though. My tummy is pretty sore today. I just took off my bandages...that left me a little weak in the knees, I must say (I'm kinda wimpy in that area). I really felt like I was going to pass out, so I put off my shower till after my 2nd Protein Shake thinking that I might feel a little stronger. I walked the house yesterday a lot to help the gas. It must have worked because I feel the gas is 95% gone. I know tomorrow will be a better day than today. Hard to get 64 ozs. of liquid in, especially with all the napping I'm doing. Yesterday I really fell short - today is going better. I just had about 1/3 of a frozen Yoplait "Whips" yogurt...it really tasted good (saw a commercial for freezing them). I highly recommend them for a little treat. I kinda felt like I needed the sugar as I literally had no calories yesterday and thought that might help with my energy for a shower along with my 2nd Protein shake. I lost of total of 16 pounds on my 2 week preop. I'm sure I won't be losing much more this first month. I'm going to focus on healing and getting my protein in and I really don't care about the scale at this point. I'm having reality checks like, "I can't believe I actually went through with this!" I feel so optimistic...like it all makes so much sense. I know I made the right choice. Even after reading that recent post on LBT (the night before my surgery) about the woman who died from complications. I'm sure there is a lot to that story and we don't know all the facts. I just focused on the facts that I knew for me...I had done my research, knew the facts about lap band surgery and stayed focused on my goal. Looking forward to my progress and getting through the next month of healing so the real party can begin. Thanks to all who post on here for getting me through this decision!!!:tt2:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
