HD, Do you mind sharing your first name? You sound like you are exactly like I was in losing my last 15, I was semi tight and it took an effort to eat, a lot of times I would just give up, I wasn't "full" but I was tired of trying. So after I got to goal I had .2 removed and now I can pretty much eat without thinking about it, I just have to be careful to not put too much food on my plate or I will mindlessly eat too much and then be in pain.

Hi Leigha and Dana (txcloverangel), It`s our bandversary today. Hurray. Hope you`re both alright and have had a bit of reflection today.

I was slightly tearful during my run this morning since I was feeling disappointed and frustrated with myself. I still can`t get used to the idea that I had to have wls due to my inability to control what I put in my mouth. Well, it`s done and I have to live and work with it.

Happy Bandversary to you both and all who have already had theirs already. Let`s keep up the good work!

Claire, I'm posting from my phone and I don't have much battery, but I wanted to sign on and say happy anniversary. I will post more in the morning when I have a real computer.

Hello ladies - I really had to dig to find this post, LOL.

So last Friday was my 1 year point - and I did make it to my original goal (one pound under actually). I had to break down last week and go get some Fluid taken out...it was to the point that I couldn't eat more than one bite of anything. So I went in and the doc said I shouldn't have had any put in when I went in last (probably right) - so she suggested they remove the whole .5cc that they put in a couple weeks ago....although I wanted to only take out half, I decided to listen to the doc this time (since I didn't listen when the other doc told me he didn't think I needed any, LOL). So it took about 4 days before I was back to normal after that (although I could drink no problem right away which was great). I did lose 4 pounds though when I had that fill, so that's good.

I hopped on the scale this morning and it showed a one pound gain though! So I'm going to be very careful now because I don't want to gain back what I lost - I'd at least like to make that fill worth something, you know?

I hope everyone is doing well.

HDmama, happy bandversary. 4lbs loss since the last fill was great but don`t get disheartened about the lb gain. I think it`s better being comfortable than too tight. Reaching your goal in a year, eh? How delightful? Congrats, hun. Now is the crunch, maintenance stage but you will be alright. If / when you feel like misbehaving, just post and we will give you a push.

Wishing all the ladies who have reached their bandversary since the 20th, a happy one. May all our journeys be smoother from now on.

Feeling incredibly low today. I desperately need a fill and thankfully I`m getting one on Friday. The last time I had a fill was in March and I thought I was a tad too tight then. Hopefully they get it right this time. I`m at 8.5cc already for a 10cc band so I don`t know whether I`m ever going to get it right.

I have a feeling I`ve put on weight or stalled at best but I`m refrainning from weighing myself until I go in for the fill on friday and then collapse from the shock.

I`ll let you know. Hope you`re all doing well.

Claire - just hang on for a couple more days and hopefully a small fill will help. Why do you think you've gained, are your clothes feeling tighter? You will be fine - just make the best food choices you can and keep up with your exercise and Friday will be here before you know it.

Sadly, I'm missing that fill that I couldn't take (well I'm not missing being uncomfortable - but I am missing the weight loss)....I've managed to gain 2 pounds of the 4 I lost back and I have been VERY good with my eating. In fact, every day last week (and this week so far) I've had a Protein Shake for Breakfast AND dinner and have eaten a solid Protein or salad at lunch....and I've been exercising regularly again, so I'm not sure how it's even possible to have gained - but the scale is telling me I have . I'm trying not to let it dictate my choices and my moods and am just telling myself that if I keep doing what I'm doing, it will eventually result in a loss (it has to, right? calories in vs calories out and all that?).

Anyway - keep your chin up and let us know how it goes on Friday.

Yeah the clothes are feeling just a little tighter but it could be psychological. I`m just worried about how comfortable it is to be able to finish a meal and sometimes have to use willpower to stop myself from indulging. I can`t wait till Friday.

2lbs weight gain after being so tight for a while should not send you into panic, hun. You will balance things out eventually. As you wrote, it`s calories in vs. calories out, unless you gain muscles in the meantime through exercising. You will be alright, you have to be because you`re one of my inspirational ladies on this board and heroes don`t fail, right? Keep up the good work.

Claire - how did the fill go? Hope it gives you a little boost without making you uncomfortable...

Happy Halloween everyone (I know it's a bit early, but not sure if I'll be on much this weekend).

Happy Halloween everyone (I know it's a bit early, but not sure if I'll be on much this weekend).

Thanks for asking, HDmama and thanks also for your encouragement. Most appreciated. It went well. I was only given .5 to bring me to a total of 8.5cc. I thought I had 8.5 already but when my records were checked it was 8cc. The liquid was also drawn out and it was clear at 8cc. I urged for more but was told NO. Well, you can`t blame a girl for trying. I was toying with the fact the band must have slipped or eroded but was told not be silly.

I`m also going to have to do my annual check soon, you know the barium swallow x-ray etc. I`m dreading the swallow! but I will not be given any more fill until that is completed by my surgeon.

I was told off slightly (well deserved) since I had put on 6lbs in recent days. I knew the regular clothes were a tad tighter. I know the cause of that because I tried the band. For the past few days, I had been testing to see how far I could go. It was all done on healthy diet though but I threw a lot of nuts in the mist and incoorporated too much carbohydrate. Well, I`m not going to cry over spilled milk. Here we go again!

I`m on two days of liquid now. Warned not to have nuts in the next few days. Need to curb my addiction! I`m actually going to remain on liquid for 2-3 days and then go on mushes for about a week to relax the pouch, if I can withstand the temptation. Watch this space!

Oh and a story to tell. I met a lady at the fill centre today and she had had the band for 4 years and is still losing the weight. She refuses to weigh herself, doesn`t exercise and is wearing a UK size 8 quite loosely. She had actually attended for an un-fill since she keeps getting too tight from time to time. She started at size 22. Oh dear, she was an inspiration apart from the exercise bit since I can`t live without exercising but I was jealous of her since if I don`t exercise I may not get anywhere!. She also gave me hope that I`m likely to be able to maintain my weight-loss for years to come. Go figure! as opposed to the many horror stories.

Becoming a bore now, mustn`t be. Enough about me, it`s so unbecoming so will sign off now.

Wishing all of you a marvelous weekend and hoping to post soon to update you. I also hope that I get updates from you all.

Well I'm glad you got your fill - you may be surprised - perhaps the .5 is more than enough (that's what I had and for me, it was just too much)...hoping it's just the right amount for you.

That's amazing about the woman at the center - no exercise? I know that shouldn't sound appealing, but honestly, to think that I could take it or leave it - what a nice change that would be. Sadly, if I don't exercise, not only do I not lose - I gain....I don't think I'll ever be able to not exercise (and that's the way it should be...want to be a good example for the kids and all, LOL). But it would be nice to not have to stress about it when I don't.

Don't worry about the 6 pounds - I'm sure that will go in no time at all.

Have a great weekend.

Claire, your never a bore, every time I sign on I wonder if I am going to hear from you today, your such a nice person, though a tad too hard on yourself (in my personal opinion).

I had to quit exercising because I was starting to really be mean to myself about not progressing fast enough so I am taking a break and I will start back when I can be more reasonable.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Last day in October, Happy Bandversary to you all. I know that not all of us achieved the goal we set for ourselves at the beginning of this thread but some of us did. I will however say congrats to all of us and also mention that I miss Astrasmom. May she rest in peace.

I`m doing well since the fill. I`m hoping for good restriction this time but only time will tell. I`m on my third day now and have dropped some weight but I`ve been practically on liquids (milk, chocolate drink, actimel and fish soup). I had about 2oz of roasted chicken breast with a tablespoon of soft cheese and chives for dinner. I intended to eat more but could not do so. I have not done any exercise since Friday. I`ve blamed the weather for that and I`m standing by that:wink2:

Leigha, you hit the nail on the head, I`m my number one critique. I self-criticise a lot which means that I sometimes push myself unnecessarily. It`s a personality trait which needs changing. With the exercise, just get started when you can relax into it. You`ve done great so far and I don`t think taking a break can hurt too much if you keep your intake healthy and within range.

Well, here is to year 2 for all of us!

Hi everyone,

Hope all is doing well. We are officially at 1 year mark. Yay. What a journey we've all been on. But so glad that I was given the chance. Well I got a fill of .30 last week and i'm starting to lose again. Im down to 161 lbs. considering i'm 5ft 8in I don't have much more to lose. i'm finally considered a normal weight. I'm not overweight anymore. Do you know how long its been since i've seen a normal weight and a size 10 to 12 depending on the name brand. I love my band with the good, bad and ugly.

Hope the best for all of you in the coming year. Sorry I havn't been posting as much lately but I've been to busy living life.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
