Waiting on insurance approval and it makes me sick to my stomach

I'm waiting to see if my insurance company United Health Care will approve me and every time I think about it my stomach just turns. I'm so, so nervous and afraid they will say no. Even if they say no the first time I think I could get them to approve it on appeal but I really want a no hassles quick approval.

My UHC doesn't have many requirements so I'm hoping I'll slide right through with my high blood pressure and sleep apnea.

How in the world do you get through this part? It's absolutely nerve wracking to me.

I took me a year to be approved by insurance. Every time I thought I had completed all of their requirements, they would add something else. They suck, but you just have to keep playing their game. Just hang in there. Good luck.

I just got my approval call today. Your call is coming soon.

Congrats on the approval!! My insurance is pending review i was told.....ughhhhhhhh. I don't wanna wait a month to hear from them.

I just got my approval today! It's been a LONG 6 month insurance battle, but I'm here! Aug. 3rd is my date :)

Congratulations to you also!!

I'm on the border as well...bmi of 39 and no co-morbidity. My insurance BCBS requires 6 month documented diet and exercise, psych eval, nutritionist eval. I'm scheduled to see my primary doctor tomorrow...I don't have much of a relationship with him (I saw him for a sinus infection 2 years ago and have only been living here in this area 2 years). I'm afraid he will try to balk at helping me, talk me out of it, etc. I'm just so tired of being fat. I want his cooperation on getting the 6 month show on the road, so to speak. Anyone else have this experience??

5'2; 212 lbs.

I have appt. on 7/19/2010 I think that's when my paper will be submitted.

Spoiltmom, I'm in the same boat as you My BIM is 35, I have Mild to Moderate Apnea,

my Hypertension is being controlled by meds. I also have High Cholesterol and a couple

of other things going on. I guess what's making me so nervous when i visit the Dr, he say you are a

little low but we will see what we can do. " Oh well what can I you say"

Laylas Grandma, Run Girl Run and jamelyn1979 Congratulations on your approval. :)

Congrats to all who have been recently approved!! I'm still waiting. It's been 2 weeks and I thought I would have heard by now (my surgeon's office said 1-2 weeks) so I did call and leave a voicemail. Just asking if everything was going well and if I needed to do anything more. Maybe it's just a little reminder and things will get going now!

Well I just called my insurance company again. They officially received all my predetermination papers on 7/12. They now have until 8/11 to make a decision. I hope they approve me and I hope they do it before then.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! This process may turn me into a nutso! Called my surgeon's office and left a voicemail today just checking in- asking if I needed to do anything on my end (it's been 2 weeks since they gave OK). No call back, but wasn't really expecting one. Just called insurance to see if they had received anything and they did!!! BUT, they got something for INPATIENT when I was told it would be outpatient, AND it's missing information and they can't process it. They just got it yesterday...

UGGGG. So I will call ins again tomorrow late morning and re-check. If still missing stuff I'll call dr AGAIN and tell them exactly what insurance told me.

I just don't want to be a crazy pest!

BUT, the insurance person did tell me they put in for August 30th. Don't know if that's my planned date or if they'll move it up once there's approval. I was hoping for a couple weeks earlier but I can live with that!

jingle ,

I completely understand. Mine was submitted the same day as yours. It is pending Review. Could be up to 14 days.....im frustrated, but optimistic!
