Did you get the feedback from veterans enough about maintaining at goal and an unfill at that time?

I'm about 2lbs from goal right now and I have no intention on getting an unfill, I just plan on upping my calorie count a bit and see if that works. I'm thinking it will as I have struggled with the last few pounds. Anyway that's the advice I got from another veteran on a different thread. I'll have to let you know how it goes.

The last part is the hardest. I am at goal or should I say I would like to lose more but my Dr say's I can't afford to.I have probably lost approx 1kg - 2.2lb since my last fill 6 weeks or so ago and now seem to have stabilised. I jump on the scales every day and they go up and down from 1 day to the next but always within the same range. I certainly don't intend having any fill out at this point. I can eat plenty - probably more than I should - so I am going to have to be careful and if the weight starts creeping up then I will get another small topup fill.

Isn't maintenance the thing that has always been the hardest?

I've never been unfilled for weight maintenance.

I got to goal, then went on to lose another 19+ lbs on the restriction I had then. My weight now stays between 127 - 135lbs, and when it starts to creep above that, I go in for a small fill. Have only had to do that twice since going into 'maintenance' mode.

So no when you get to goal, generally speaking, you don't get unfilled. You just live with that level of restriction, which tends to ease over time.

I had my surgery three weeks ago. I can imagine, but can't see that 100% factor yet! At our pre-surgery seminar they quoted the 60% too, and one of the other patients asked about that. The surgeon responded that 60% is about a national average, accounting for patients that have the band removed or unfilled for whatever reason, as well as patients that don't or can't use the band as the tool intended and fail to lose any weight or even gain weight.

I remember him saying that support, exercise, following the "rules", eating healthier and sleeping all contribute to success with rates of 85-125%.

I love this site and the support I read, receive and feel on a daily basis. It is as much a part of this journey as the band in many ways.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
