OMG, I'm SO sorry!

Recommended Posts

I hate to have to post this in detail because it's terribly gross and not very lady-like, but I figured I would rather ask yall before I call my surgeon and bother him with it.

Yesterday was my first fill, I have 5cc's in a 10cc band, and during my sleep I seem to have, well soiled myself with diarrhea (so gross, I'm so sorry) I didn't have any warning, and I feel like a 6 year old who peed the bed.

All I ate yesterday was cream of chicken and chicken broth, I didn't have ANY problems with diarrhea the first 2 weeks after my surgery when I was on liquid only diet, so I don't know what's causing it now, normally my body tells me when I have to go and I have some warning, but the same thing just happened a minute ago when I was sitting on the couch, I had NO warning, and it just happened. God, it's so terribly disgusting, I don't know what to do.

Please tell me this is normal and will stop soon, I am completely embarrassed and disgusted, and I don't want to deal with it again.

I don't think this is normal I have been banded for 1 yrs and 2 months and this has never happended to me..Never and from reading on this site for the last year this is the first I've heard of this.. You might need to call your surgeon right away and your PCP becasue something is defintely wrong.. Let me know what happens..I'm sorry this has happened..

I really wish I could help but I have never had that happen. It could be the change in your diet, sometimes it takes our bodies time to adjust or maybe you have a bit of a stomach virus. But if it doesn't hurt to call the Doctor if it persist. You don't want to become dehydrated. Make sure to get plenty of liquids. Hope you feel better soon.

It sounds like food poisoning or a "bug". Send someone to get you some immodium liquid (sp?). That is the only thing that works for me. By the way, I don't think its band related.

I left them a voicemail, so I'm waiting for a call now or tomorrow, thanks so much for responding, I don't think it's normal either, it hasn't happened since though, I'm terrified to eat or drink anything other than Water, and haven't left the house all day.

Thanks, I hope it's a bug and not band related because this is horribly embarrassing.

Thank you. I'll have my boyfriend grab me some on his way home, I hadn't even thought to take anything over the counter, I hardly take anything even for a headache, but if it happens again, I'll be prepared.

I agree with Leigha .... It doesn't sound band related.

It sounds food or flu related.

Well turns out it must be a bug, for the last hour I have been vomiting, and now I have fever. Going to call my family doctor in the morning and get myself looked at. I hope it's not the flu, I do feel pretty terrible right now though.

I would have bet you had a bug, the only time that's happened to me has been when I've had a really bad stomach bug. Its horrid and very embarrassing. That's not band related.

Hope you're feeling better.

I keep liquid Pherengan in the fridg just in case I get the flu (for vomiting). My doctor doesn't want me vomiting to much, even with the flu. Also on hand is Immodium AD. Just in case. Feel better soon....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
