Dreaming of mexican food. 3 minutes till I go. Carson is back in daycare... we can do it we can do it!

Oh and I like my evil au natural too. fruit (or chocolate) on it doesn't sound very appetizing. I like my cheesecakes plain too.

Therapy session this morning.. everything went well. Church ladies luncheon this afternoon. Only ladies missing were those who are still pissed about the pastor leaving. And they're the ones that lose! We had a great time.

We're headed to Mackinaw City in an hour. 2 hour drive, some shopping and then dinner with Kris and Nathan before we come home.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hello and Good Morning.

Sad reflective day today.

I guess this is our generations 'where were you'?

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, had to go in early for a customer and didn't really allow myself enough time, and then of course I worked both jobs and no internet access at either.

Speaking of work, gotta go!!

Make it a good one!!!

Morning Girls~

We had a spectacular night last night!! The filet mignon (bacon wrapped and maple), off the hook salad, baked pots, steamed asparagus, these OUTSTANDING sourdough rolls, and these cute fruit tart thingys I bought from the store! It was great!

We are going (unless Susanne's mom doesn't want to go) to Carol Channing's Star VIP party! Charles knows her and orchestrated he planned this entire VIP party! I am really excited, and asked if Susanne's mom could join!

Today, I don't want to do shit!!! Tired and need to watch Jersey Shore and grade papers!

have a great day!!!

Good afternoon, Violets..

Lazy day today. We went to the Farmer's Market and I got some squash, apples, swiss chard and cabbage. Then the support group. Had some good discussion and then home for lunch and a nap. It's only 64 today and very cloudy and dreary so no pool time, but I'll be in the hot tub tonight stretching and bending my knee. The walking at Mackinaw yesterday sure made it sore and hard to get to sleep last night. I popped a percocet and finally drifted off. It's feeling better today.

We are headed to a hobo dinner at the Presbyterian church in town. Should be interesting. Tomorrow the choir sings for the first time this season. Hopefully this guest pastor won't decide to preach for 45 minutes like the last one did!! It's supposed to warm up tomorrow so I hope to get in the pool and do some exercises. We're going to close it down when I head to California. At least we'll still have the hot tub so I can do my bending and stretching.

I'll have to start working in the gardens in the next few weeks. Got to get all the art work in for the winter and cut back on the plants that need it. I have some to transplant as well.

Off to dry some towels and then head to the dinner. Everyone have a good evening..

Good morning,

Headed for work.

Let us know if we owe any for the van Pamela. Do you need me to bring anything? Think on it.

Nothing on or for the van...I am borrowing it from a friend. I was going to rent one (would not have collected either) but my friend came through. It might not be luxury, but it will haul us around. I just didn't want to be in 2 cars. Mine seats 5 and Susanne's seats 4 but this is better.

I will pick up Judy and Jane from the airport at like 1:10 (get out at 1pm) and will then go pick up the girls from the casino (the 11am girls will go downtown and have lunch at the buffet).

Then Friday, we can piddle around town and maybe go to Idyllwild for lunch and to look at the cool shops. It is an artsy farsty town with tarrot card readings, palm readings, fun little chatz-key crapola, but it is beautiful in the mtns.

Off to grade!!

Hi Everyone! I am back, LBT said my last visit was 4/2009.

How is everyone doing?

I am frustrated right now - feeling like a failure. I haven't had a fill in years - I think it was Jan 08 -- and have plenty of restriction -- I can eat about 1/2 a sandwich/sub of what I use to before LB.

I have gained back all my weight... banded in April 07 - lowest weight Oct 07.

My husband is frustrated too... he sees me struggle with eating and food daily --- he is pushing for me to go have the band removed -- I feel if I do that I will balloon up - so he thinks I should go have gastric bypass....

How have you all fared the years with your weight?

Anyone feeling like me?

 Gina

Gina,

It is great to have you back! It has been a struggle for me too...and 2 weeks ago, after my doc asked if I wanted it 3 times, I decided to have gastric bypass!!! I am scheduled now for the Monday before Thanksgiving and am soooo ready to do this.

Since I already did all of the "pre" stuff, I only have to have the psych eval, nutrition eval and a bone density scan. I only lost 30 lbs on the band, and have gained it all back:frown::thumbup:

I have tons (literally about 12) friends who have had the gb surgery and all have said, "I wish I did it sooner"! They have all been successful except 1, who hasn't gained it all back but has put on about 50 lbs. She eats greasy fatty foods though, and I am not a big fan of food she likes (bacon, fried chicken, homemade donuts).

So yes, I am in your shoes. Yes, I am scared of the surgery, but honestly, I am more scared to NOT have it and take this weight into another decade or two.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Good morning!!

Gina, in your shoes!!!

I am self pay, so any more surgery is not an option for me. Plus, I don't think I would be a candidate for GB since I have Iron issues, never checked, just assuming.

I can't say I feel like a failure, and neither should you. I can honestly say this has changed my life, it has opened my eyes more. It has brought me here, and believe me this is a step and place I normally would never take!!! I am blessed to be with people that understand the struggle and do not judge. Heck, Judy is even willing to sit next to me on an airplane!! True friendship!!!

Not only am I gushing I am rambling. Hang in there, and feel free to vent here, we totally understand your frustrations, if you notice, I am no longer a shrinking violet just a 'proud' violet!!

I am off today, going to meet my parents for lunch, swap cars with my dad, go shopping with my mom, take my mom home, switch cars with my dad again, go to work #1 to pick some things up, go see Sue who I use to work with at 6:30 get my hair cut possibly short and dark, or just trimmed and touched up, and then out to dinner with her. I worked 7 days in a row since I worked labor day at #2. Pooped. I think if I added up the hours I would be upset. No wonder I was putting returns in a drawer yesterday and throwing away these stickers for cards......

Wow, this whole post has been about ME!!! EGOTISTICAL can you say!?!?!?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
