Lap Band Fill in Austin/San Antonio area

Recommended Posts

I can't find a local lap band fill for Austin or San Antonio. I got my lap band in Mexico. It's a swedish lap band. I havent had any complications and after losing weight, I have maintained it for 2 years now. Dr. Garwood is the Dr. I used for fills every 6 months or so, but he has moved to Lufkin TX. Recently because of a different medical problem, I was prescribed two different meds with side effects of gaining weight and I did. 12 pounds or so in 3 weeks. It's been a year since I got a fill and my band has hardly any restriction at all. Problem is I can not find a dr for a fill in Austin. Either they dont do patients from Mexico or with the band I have. Or they cost 1000 up front (that insane) or they want to sell me some weight loss program first with out giving me a fill.

I went to see Dr. Patel and he told me I needed to buy and drink two high protien shakes and a sensible meal and he would not give me a fill because I need to learn how to eat right. He said I needed to quit sitting around eating chocolate. What a jrk!!EXCUSE ME, but I wouldn't have went to Mexico 3 years ago for lap band if I hadn't already tried the slim fast plan!!! The truth is, I took the meds, fell off the wagon a bit and need some restriction on my band. That's it. Is that so hard to understand? If you know

a decent common sense DR like Dr. Garwood is, that doesn't cost 1000 dollars up front or really just wants to sell me shakes and Vitamins or teach me how to eat right. I maintained a healthy weight for 2 years & exercised 3 times a week so I DO know how to do it. NO thanks Dr. Patel. :cursing:Please let me know. Any DR. within 2 hours of Austin will be fine.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
