I had my surgery done whit DR HUACUZ he is surgeron certified by inamed I just had my inmed band put in by dr. huacuz. he was excellent. no problems. doesnt hurt that he looks like antonio bandaras. he was charming and very attentive to my every need and concern. great service. nice hotel and hospital. all first class. i highly recommend dr. huacuz. he treated me right.

would you go back to the same dr who make mistake once on you? plus he is not doing for free you have to pay all again? No no my life is more value than go back to him. would you go back? I like to know.

No one has said that. I think people are just questioning because you haven't really given the complete story. Why is the the doctors fault? How do you know it's the doctor's fault? How do you know it was an "old band" and what do you mean by that? If it was a slip, couldn't it be just that, a slip and no one's fault? We are just trying to get a better understanding of the situation and why you feel this was the surgeons fault. If it was a slip and needed revision, yes I would go back to my surgeon. We aren't trying to say you are wrong for your feelings utah, we just need more info. Good luck to you.

The dr. here in Usa told me after heopen me up. was an old band plus was in a wrong place.he even called my dr. in Tijuana . The dr. in tijuana talked with me on the phone the same time he was doing a surgery, because I heard a bip and he said: i will call you soon's I finish with this surgery, OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 i almost die.

I believe Utahband ( who is my friend) is not expressing herself clearly. The band was not OLD meaning --- used band, rusty band or anything related to that. It was simply NOT the new INAMED band that was showed to her prior to surgery, when the band was discussed. The band that was placed was a very large band, one that is not manufactured by INAMED any longer. It was the largest band and it slipped probably due to the huge size on somebody that is about 5'1'' and 168 lbs on the day of surgery ( do not ask me why someone with a 33 of BMI decides to have a Lap Band)... I believe Utahband is not hurting emotionally only because of the complications but because of having the terrible feeling of having to have another procedure a few weeks after the first one in addition to having to find out that the band was not the band she was told she would get at the time of the medical assessment. I hope I am assisting her to express herself a little better. To end all this.. Utah is doing well now, she is still struggling with the feelings of having a band ( we all know how the first weeks go), feeling extra tired for being on very little or nothing for quite a while. I hope this helps.

Not to nit pick but some one's actual height and weight does not have a lot to do with what size band they get from what I understand.

Its the size of their Anatomy inside is what determines the size of the band used. Granted it sounds like this doc used a band that was too big which can happen but "outward" appearance has nothing to do with it .

Consider yourself lucky. Sadly, many others aren't quite as fortunate.

The way I look at it is: if the world-wide rate for a complication is something like 2% and a surgeon has 2, 3 even 5x the normal rate, that's still 90% of his patients that don't experience that complication. Therefore, the fact that a doctor has patients who haven't had complications, doesn't mean he's a good doctor.

Yes, all doctors have patients who get complications and all doctors have patients who don't get complications. But wouldn't you rather go to a doctor with a 2% complication rate over one with a 10% complication rate? I know I would.

Fortunately MANY other are quite as fortunate. Besides luck has nothing to do with it.
