I am from England and had a band fitted on 29TH May. My big problem is taking my medication for diabetes. I can not get it in liquid form so have to crush it and mix it with milk or yoghourt but it tastes so bad I keep heaving and I worried I will be sick or i might dislodge the band. Anyone else had this problem and can offer me any ideasplease !

First off, congrats on your band! I am not good taking meds and the taste kills me too! I dont have to crush them up but I do have to break a couple of them up. I take those with a sip of my Protein shake to mask the flavor a little bit. Check with your Dr, maybe the will allow you to use a teaspoon of apple sauce. that might work too! Hope you feel well soon!

had mine done in the Midlands. I was fine until it was time to go to the theatre. Everyone was lovely and when i had a panic they talked me through and help my hand, it really helped When i woke up i was in recovery with a nice young man sitting by me (a male nurse) i was taken back to my room and went straight back to sleep. Had it done about 10.30 and didnt fully awake till about 2 or maybe a bit later. Mouth really dry so had a drink of Water, shortly after i was sitting up having a cup of tea. Bit sore to move so had to take it slowly by no really bad pain. They gave me strong painkillers before i left theatre. Stayed in overnight and was dishcharged at 7.00 next morning, walked out a bit stiflf and had to take getting in the car slowly. Its day 4 now and i im still uncomfortable bot im getting round fine, cooking, doing housework etc.probably could drive today but dont want to push it so will leave it till tomorrow. Worst day was2 days after surgery, not because i was in pain but i started thinking have i done the right thing and thinking quite negativly. Only lasted for the day then i weighed myself and i had lost3 lbs in 2 days havnt weighed myself since, might do tomorrow. all in all it hasnt been too bad, it is surgery so expect a bit of discomfert but i am sure you will cope. Keep thinking about how you will look this time next year. Good luck and let me know how you get on

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
