symptoms of dilation?

Recommended Posts

Are there any? For those of you who have had a dilated esophagus, were you surprised when you got your diagnosis?

I've been eating way more than I should. No PB'ing but there are times I feel really full. On admittedly less food than before, but....I'm still worried I'm going to ruin this. Can anyone help?

thanks

Hi I was just diagnosed with dialation today!! Very scarry trying to find out more info here on the forums I went in for a fill because I could eat way too much then I heard oops we have a problem he took Fluid out and I am now on a liquid diet hopefully it will return to its normal size or the band will have to be removed according to my surgeon the only symptoms I had were overeating, hungry all the time and nighttime cough

hi ladies, I will be having my band removed this Monday due to kink in tubing and esophagus dialation. my stythoms also included night coughing and coughing after meals. dont blame your self. the coughing is due to a too tight band. basically want happens is the food sits too long in the esophagus causing it to stretch. I dont know what problems this can cause and dont want to take any chances. I was going to have the port and tubing replace but decided at the last moment to have the band removed.

Good luck on your surgery!! I have a few questions if that is ok did they tell you if the dialation would go back to normal? I am worried. and are you converting to a different surgery or just done with weight loss surgery in general Thanks Kim

I never asked the question, I will find out tomorrow. I'm done with weight loss surgery at this time. gastric bypass was never an option, it scares me I'm actually looking forward to a normal life. no more eating soft foods, going the whole day with only protien drinks and then over eating when I could eat. my goal is now to maintain the 60 pounds lost and being mentally and physically healthy through excercise and eating properly.

I was starting to lose it, the band took alot out of me.

Hi ladies, well its out. smooth recovery. I understand your worries, those are mine. did I learn good eating habits in these two and half years. I cant answer that question. when I was able to eat, I ate a lot. the one good thing I did learn to do was excercise. I work out 5 days a week. Water arobics M-Th and on saturdays I take a two hour class that vary's from zumba, arobics, kick boxing follow by core and free weights.

my thoughts on this whole process have been excitment, anger, frustration. I dont regret any of it

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
