Hiccups after a fill!!!! OMG!!

Recommended Posts

Hello lapband friends... I received my 5th fill on last Thursday April 15th.. Every since I got that fill I have been hiccuping after I eat something... and it's like my food wants to come back up, not all of it but a little... It is driving me crazy... Have any of you experienced this?

Banded April 15th 2009

I also hiccup like crazy - honestly I think I'm too tight.. its been a week now but I kind if keep sticking it out... I will likely have to go have some taken out...

I never really burp, but hiccup - YES all the time!

I only hiccup when I eat too fast. Drinking a little Water is the only thing that stops them and I can feel it in my throat.

I hiccup 1-2 minutes after everytime I eat. I am at the perfect restriction right now, I have been overfilled before and that isn't pretty and if I get any taken out I won't lose. I had my doc put in .2 cc's last time and that is when the hiccups came. I just look at it as a small price to pay to losing weight =) Good luck on your journey

I hiccup also, although I haven't had a fill, only 4 weeks postop, but have noticed I get the hiccups more frequently, just randomly, when I'm not eating or drinking. Good Luck guys, just glad to know I'm not the only one!

I get the hiccups as I am eating and it is my indicator that I am full..so I don't eat any more after my first hiccup.

I hiccup when I eat too fast... then I realize that I am too full too, BECAUSE I ate too fast...

So I have to make sure that too many hours hasn't passed between meals... then I wont be starving, leading to eating too fast...

I do the exact same thing. It has taken the fun out of eating. That helps with all the weight loss.

I've been banded a little over a year now, April 6,2009, and got just 3.6 cc's in my 10 cc band, and I've also noticed that when I eat too fast that I get the hiccups !! I thought I was the only one and often wondered what it meant ! They don't hurt in fact it I feel better after I hiccup for a few minutes. Good luck to you guys on your journey !!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
