Hi, newly banded here

Hi all, I was banded on November 9,05 in Port Jervis New York, I need to lose 120 lbs go for my first after care visit tomorrow hope all goes well. I am 44 and currently 257 lbs, goal weight of 130 or 140. I am the mother of two boys ages 17,24 and have been married for 25 years to my loving husband.

I am only 5 days into this and I am a little concerned already because everyone I spoke to made it sound like there was no pain basically and I have been in pretty bad pain I think, also I find myself watching the foodtv channel all the time! I am on clear liquids and sticking to it but it is getting pretty boring.

I see the doctor tomorrow so hopefully I will feel better after seeing him.

Pepsi,

I was banded on Nov 7, 2005 and I have quite a bit of pain also. I believe it to be gas pains though. Mainly shoulder pain. I have been taking the Gas-X everyone has suggested, but I still have some pain. Is yours the gas pains?

Hope we both get better soon?

Hi and welcome, liquid tylenol helps with the pain and unfortunatley the liquid diet is what it is! It will be over b4 you know it. take good care

Glo,

So it is the liguid diet that is giving the shoulder pain?

Awesome, I'm off the liguids in 2 days.

I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you!

I am not sure it is, I have severe lower left pain and it was explained to me by the doctor that it could be from the surgery tools being prodded around inside me and that i could have the pain up to two months!(god I hope not!)

The pain is a little less now and the best news I had my first weigh in- I lost 11 lbs in 5 days! Yahoo!:)

Hi I'm newly banded as well it's been about a week.

This group is a wonderful support group and nearly any question you have, will get a tremendous amount of answers...all of them very helpful. I was banded on 10/25 and am down 30 pounds thus far. It'll be 3 weeks tomorrow. I am very excited for each and every new bandster. This is the beginning of a whole new life for all of us!
