OT-Need fashion help! DESPERATELY!!

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have the fashion sense of a ant. I have worn blue jeans for so many years and everything goes with blue jeans(well almost). Someone just gave me some brown jeans and they fit great (size 18 down from a 26).

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT COLORS GO WITH BROWN JEANS!! Can someone help me? I have shirts in these colors... red, green, blue, black, purple, pink and of course blue jean shirts.

HHHHHHEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!

Of course, taste is personal, but I'll try to give you some ideas. Brown jeans look great with black! Try a denim shirt or a chambray shirt. Some colors of green, like olive, look good, too. Get a vest that has brown as one of the colors, then wear it over a coordinating t-shirt (long-sleeved) with the brown jeans. A rust orange or burnt orange will look good, too. Maybe find you a cute fall-themed shirt... I bet is has brown in it! That's all I can think of for now...have fun! Cindy

I like black or cream (off white, ivory, bone, etc. too many names for this one color - LOL) with brown.

I have a pair of brown slacks and a brown sweater that matches it. I like to wear either a cream shirt or black shirt with it. I think the cream color really sets it off nicely though. It's a nice contrast.

I have brown dress slacks I've been wearing with anything white, cream, yellow, or orange. My office is really cold so I have an array of cardigans, a couple of which have brown themes. Either of these look great with the brown slacks and a collared shirt in another color that's in the sweater.

I don't know, maybe it's just me--when I try black with brown it NEVER works.

La Madame hit it right on the nose~~ Turquoise is HOT right now especially paired up with brown!! Especially if you find one with pink in it!! Pink is good too, you mentioned you had pink shirts...

Brown goes with every thing. It's a neutral. Think about trees, trunks are brown yet flowering trees come in all shades. Think about all the different shades of green that pair with those tree trunks. (I am by no means compairing you to a tree trunk.) Think about all the different way browns combines with other colors in nature.

Think about all the colors of fall leaves, reds, golds, oranges, yellows...

My new wardrobe consists of one of those sweater sets. Ya know the one with the sleeveless, high neck, then the matching cardigan over top. I wear it with my new size 14 jeans and my new heeled boots, makes my 5'2" look like at least 5'4. Can't believe how much smaller a pair of heeled shoes/boots makes you look and feel.

I also got another sweater set, baby blue with sequins, HOT, LOL.

Dress Barn has a lot of these sweater sets, never thought I could get these big boobs in a sweater set, so give that a try, you may be surprised like I was.

i do understand about jeans. how funny, we have the same name and i too was a 26 now 18w. i live in my jeans. the color that looks good with brown yellow, bronze, rust, black soft warm tones. i was banded 7/15/05. you might consider stepping away from the jeans scene altogether.

I agree totally about the boots!! I am 5'8" already, so you wouldn't think I'd need the height. I am telling you, the new boots out right now are comfy and really do make you feel slimmer (even my sizes 11s)! - I'll take anything I can get!!

By the way, there are so many shades of brown out there now - be careful! Some look great with light colors like salmon or turquoise, but others really need to be paired up with white or off-white to look right!!

Good Luck~ remember, it's not all about how it looks when you wear it, it's all about how you FEEL when you wear it!!!

Definitely turquoise or light blue, those are my two favorites. But vinesqueen is right, because brown is a neutral it goes with just about anything, the hot IN color to match with brown right now is turquoise, I just bought a shirt that is brown with a turq. lace trim at the neckline and at the bottom and it is just beautiful.. I love it. So think outside the box and forget about a boring cream, do turquoise...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
