Milestone Day...52 lbs down and goodbye to the 300's

Recommended Posts

Today was a really good day. For the first time in 4 years, I haven't tipped the scales at 300lbs+. I am officially 299!!! I'm so proud of myself... cause we all know the band DOES NOT do it all on it's own. I even got unsolicited compliments from my co-workers, both male and female today. These folks have seen me through it all for the past few years. Sometimes a little acknowledgement can go along way and it is a great motivator. Though, I know we are all not doing this for vanity sake, but for health, wellness and whatnot.. it still feels damn good to like the body your'e in. I love me... all 299 lbs of me.

Best to all on this journey!!

Lauren

Congrats!

I know how it feels to be in the 300's...although my highest weight was 305, there is something about it that makes you feel overwelmed! I am sooooooo happy for you!

You have lost alot in 3 weeks; what have you been eating/doing? I just got banded on 3/11/10; I am down from 304 to 290....I am just over a week post op; I get my first fill in 3 weeks, so you are my role model...girlfriend!:)

Blessings,

taRa.*

Hi Tara,

Congrats on you loss thus far!!

Within the past 4 weeks, I stalled for about 2 weeks and then all of a sudden started dropping about a 1 lb a day or so. Perhaps, I was retaining Water at the beginning of the month or it was due to my cycle. Regardless of when it comes of, I'm just glad it's coming off. I did notice that I eat more around my cycle still, so that could be why I stalled a few weeks back. I typically eat bet. 800-1100 calories a day and walk a much as I can.

Best,

Lauren

You dont have to be afraid to say"for vanitys sake", we all want to look better also. For me its right up there with health and wellness. Its mentally healthy to feel happy about our looks also! Look, you just said what a good day it was because of compliments, whats healthier than being happy?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
