No preop diet - banded on Friday 3/5 - down 9 pounds of obvious Water weight. Boy my ankles look good! HA HA!

I lost 20 pounds in the month pre-surgery (I was on Medifast at my surgeon's direction); since my banding on February 26th, I've lost 19 more. My surgeon told me to expect, now that I'm moving forward with purees, that I may gain a little back. I've made it my personal mission to prove him wrong, though

If all goes well, I may be getting my first adjustment on March 31st.

Best, Christine

I lost 18 lbs before my first fill. I did not have a preop diet. It has been by will power that I have done this and a heck of alot of biking....

I lost 8lb in one week of pre-op Optifast diet.

I am now 5 days post-op and have lost another 5lb.

I did get a fill of 4ml during surgery, so maybe my journey is going to be different? No idea when I'll need a fill, see my surgeon for my first check-up in a couple of weeks.

Like all the other forums, I guess this one shows we are all different, but can all be successful if we are determined.

I am 5 weeks post-op and had my first fill yesterday. I have lost 17 lbs since the surgery, but only 6 lbs on the pre-diet (which sucked! 2 weeks on a liquid diet and only lost 6 lbs... what's up with that?)

I lost 7 pounds during my week long preop diet and then 10 pounds since being banded on 2/22. This was a really good question because I was curious, too! Looks like I shouldn't be too concerned if I don't lose anything else before my first fill, it's on the 24th. But it was nice to lose 2 pounds overnight those first few days after surgery!

I lost 14 pounds on my weeklong pre-op diet, and 10 more pounds since surgery. My first fill is tomorrow, and I'm glad. For the past week or so, I've felt NO restriction!

I lost 13lbs in the week long pre-op diet, and I have lost a good deal in the few days following the surgery, (enough that people who hadn't seen me in a couple of days noticed a difference) but I don't have an exact number because my scale at home still says "Get Off Me!!" whenever i get on it... I won't know for sure until I get to the Doc next week for my follow up...

274 was my highest weight in 2009. I was at 258 when i started the liquid diet, I was 252 the day of my surgery so lost 6lbs on one week liquid diet. I am at 240 as of my 2 week post op weight which is 18 lbs post op. I have not lost one pound this week which is my 3rd week but I am not discouraged. 274-240 = 34lbs and counting..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
