I'm trying to upload a picture of Brewski. I don't know if it worked correctly. This is a test...only a test...

Good Morning everyone! Well I didn't get stuck yesterday at all. I go to the doctor today to see if I need an adjustment. After reading about Elfie's fill maybe I do. I've been getting stuck here and there, well more here than there, and maybe this isn't true restriction. I will let the doctor decide. Still don't have my glasses back. Maybe today, for sure tomorrow. Successfully uploaded Brewski's picture. He's in trouble right now. He's decided, at night, to eat my flowers in the garden. I don't know what's gotten into him! Maybe he's lonely. He's an outside dog though. Always has been, always will be. Everyone have a really great day today. Sunny and warm here in SoCal!!! Elfie...glad you're back...you scared us.

Bob, try some hairball remedy. When I had my cat it worked very well. I got some that was like a tube of toothpaste. They lick it up right out of the tube.

It's been 3+ years. I have tried hairball remedies and even a cat laxative.

I refuse to spend too much on a cat at the vet. After all, kittens are free for a reason.

She's 6 and a half. How long do indoor cats usually live?

Brewski looks great. Want to trade for my cat?

Is it just me or do all of us that have dogs, have big dogs?

Good afternoon, friends! Glad to see you are all doing well for the most part!

This sunshine is really a super boost for my mood! I’m not a real outdoors person, but I love those days where the sun is shining and there’s still just a little chill in the air or a nice breeze…jacket weather…I can feel it coming and I’m soooo excited!

I don’t have any animals, other than my kids & hubby, lol, so I can’t join in on the doggy & kitty convos. And I think my boy may be allergic to dogs. He spent the day at a friend’s house a couple months ago that has 4 dogs and that night he broke out in a bad rash! He had never been around animals before, so we think it maybe that. Bad thing is he keeps asking to go back over there.

We didn’t get to see Alice in Wonderland as we had planned. They were only showing it in 3-D at the local theatre and I didn’t think my 5 year old was ready for that…either he’d keep taking the glasses off, or try to wear them without his regular glasses, either way, wouldn’t enjoy the show. They usually have both the 3-D show and the non 3-D show but didn’t for this one, so we will wait for it to come out on DVD!

I finally got to take off the extra pound. I know I usually only log it for Friday evenings, but I had been teetering so much during the week between 289 and 294 and Saturday and Sunday I never saw anything over 292, so I logged it last night! I must have been holding Water or something Friday.

Been a “bad girl” today. Someone brought in a cheesecake brownie to the office! I had ½ a brownie…surprisingly nutrition wise it wasn’t too much worse than the Yoplait light I had planned to eat for a snack! So, I won’t punish myself too bad for that. As long as I stick with everything else I have planned for the day, I’ll still be under my 1200 calories! Carbs today are just kinda high…stupid bagel! I have to remember to fix my eggs the night before so I won’t have to grab a bagel in a rush for breakfast! Plan, plan, plan!!!!

Oh, and I finally posted a comparison pic. I will try to add it to this post, but if that doesn’t work it will be with my other photos. It looks like I’m poking my gut out in the first and sucking it in in the second, but I’m really not! It’s a difference of about 25lbs!

(ok, can't figure out how to put the pic in!)

Well, enjoy the rest of your day, everyone!

Hey Bob, love your dogs. If you were to ask Butters all dogs are big, the rest are just squeak toys! :-)

Illumination: Love Brewski!! He's awesome. I had a dog that dug up all my bulbs. He also ate all my rose bushes. Right down to the dirt! Dang, that HAD to hurt!

Leigha, Jace is gorgeous, looks ready to ROCK!

Humming Bird, Marley and Me was a great movie. After the movie came out, everywhere Butters went we heard, look there's Marley!

Betsy! love Truman, he is ready to GO! I gotta tell ya though. There is a labrador rescue group here, it is where we got Butters. They had a yellow boy who was a special needs case, his name is Truman. I always had a picture of that Truman in my head when you would talk of yours, but realized it was not the same Truman. Nice to see the real one. The Truman here had hip issues. They got those fixed and he did find a forever home. We met him a few times at the dog park, before Butters started having his aggression issues. He was such a sweetie.

Update So, I got on the scale last night, and I am down a wee bit more! Woohoo!!! My personal trainer is paying off! Too bad he and the DH are going camping. Maybe I'll have to walk by myself (yeah, that will happen!). Still feeling cruddy, so guess I am entitled to a couple of days off.

DH goes camping when I plan to do our taxes, because otherwise he just stands there yelling at me that he won't pay! Yeah, lemme just fix that! NOT. So, I send him on his merry way. I get a couple of days free with the house to myself. I'll do the taxes this evening. Then I have tomorrow after work free, free, free!!!

Ok, I owe, I owe, so back to work I go!!!

There are 2 ways to post pictures.

The easiest way is to just click on the paperclip above the text box you are typing your post in; browse to the picture and click upload.

The other way is to upload your pictures to your gallery; click the picture of the mountains above the box you're typing in and paste the url to the picture you uploaded.

I use the more complex way because I like to throw them in the middle of my text

I love sun and hate cold. Supposed to be 77 here tomorrow. Winter is over!

Bob you always know the technical stuff, when I was new here, I found a post from you that told me how to do my ticker!

OK everyone here is Rufus, this picture shows exactly how spoiled (on the couch!) and nosy he is. That is my son Mason with him.

Bob Are you at your hundred mark?

98.6 this morning but I round it to 99.

Either tomorrow morning or Wednesday I will hit 100. (99.1 gets rounded to 100)

Then my next milestone is 243 (122 down). 244 pounds is the lowest I've hit on a diet in the past 15+ years.

I'm in no hurry, just cruising along. I know that a month long plateau is due and am not going to let it get to me.

Bob, You have such a good attitude you're sure to be a success with the band. And no, I won't trade the pukey cat for Brewski...lol

Got my fourth fill today. Got another .5 ccs for a total of 6.5 ccs in a 10 band. Lost 3 more pounds in 2 weeks. Slow but sure. Like Bob, I'm in no hurry. Just as long as the scale is going down is all that matters.

It's really great reading everyone's posts, seeing pictures, and learning where you all live. It's really wonderful!!!

I don't think I ever had a cat that lived less than 13 years and they've all been indoor cats. Female, spayed and into the vet every year for their checkup and vaccines. Most of my cats started as strays that just kind of showed up on our doorstep and *somehow* found their way into our home...and hearts. The one we have now is going on 10 years...we think (since she was a stray and they made a guess based on her teeth) and we've had her for about 9 years, give or take.

Ok...here's my baby. She's a 'rescue' doggie. It's a long story but involves me threatening a relative with the law if they didn't give me the dog. They didn't physically beat her but she was abused and neglected, nonetheless...

Yes that is snow on her nose. She loves to eat the stuff.

It is a little blizzard here tonight. Lots of heavy wet snow. I had to put it in four wheel drive to get up my road and then slid down my driveway. I hate it when that happens! My drive to work in the morning is going to suck. The drive today was kinda bad too. I'm so ready for spring!

Bob, my last indoor cat I had for 15 years.

I took this pic in the Walmart parking lot just a bit ago. I'm not sure if it shows the real amount of heavy blowing snow tonight.

On a more positive note, I saw a big herd of Elk on my way home from work....very cool.

My drive to work in the morning is going to suck.

It's going to be sunny and high 70s tomorrow and my drive will suck worse because I've been off for a week enjoying the good life.

Bob, my last indoor cat I had for 15 years.

Looks like kitty may have an accident.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
