No, I wish I could kids have soccer games all day tomorrow. I hope you have a great time!!

Things are going okay here weight loss has stayed about the same the last week or so, I hope that it starts moving down the scale again. I am going to try to get my Zumba classes in next week.

How are you doing? How is football season?

Hello, everyone..I was just checking in. Had my surgery on September 30th and I am doing really good with the exception of throat pain. Did anyone else experience this? I must say, I had such a great operation day at New Hope Bariatrics. Dr. Malley and his team took such good care of me while I was there.

Things are going really good. Of course, during our last home game we had some severe weather...this had me running all over the building trying to handle some situations.

After my last fill, I had restriction for a couple of weeks. I don't have any restriction anymore. So, I have an appointment on the 11th.

Aren't they a fantastic bunch. It is like you are their only patient, yet they pretty much have patients all day long. I seen Dr. Malley one evening at the seminar that Dr. Hitchcock was presenting and Dr. Malley was still taking care of patients at 7:00 PM.

I also complained of throat pain but it subsided later that night and wasn't having any problems by the next day. Hopefully you are okay now.

Hope all is well with you now and congratulations on a healthier you.

I've had a really painful sore throat after almost every surgery. I've been informed that it's hard to put a tube in me and that is why it hurts all the time.

Hello KC Bandsters. I guess I am the oddball here. I was banded Aug. 3, 2010 at the Minimally Invasive Surgery Hospital in Lenexa by Dr. Saberwhal. Their regimen is quite a bit different than what most of you have described. I had some complications with the port site also. They resolved and I went in on Sept. 15th for my first fill. My port had flipped. I had surgery again last Monday (a week ago). I will see the doc again on Oct. 13th, maybe for my first fill. Meanwhile, I have lost 37 pounds. I am seldom hungry except for "head hunger". Will weigh again this PM and hope it is good news.

Have a great day.

Thanks for the welcome Joyce. I didn't realize the town wouldn't show up. I am in Paola, well actually outside town in the country.

There is much more support here. Especially from local people. And this group has a wide variety of people that are at various stages. I've gotten some wonderful suggestions and it's a great place to get your frustrations out.

Welcome!!!

Hi! I was banded on Sept 16th by Dr. Malley and I'm pleased with things so far. I just need the extra support. Are there groups that meet more frequently than the one at New Hope?

Thanks!

Rebecca

Welcome! I was banded Sept 30 by Dr. Malley. I love the amount of instant support on this site. If you have a question about anything, there is someone here to help. Also, you can get some great recipes, eating tips, etc, from this site

Welcome!!!

You will love it! I had it done by Dr. Malley on August 31st. My advice is- do everything they tell you. liquids, to Soups, to soft foods and then to regular food. You will not have your first fill til 6 weeks after your surgery. I have my first fill this Monday. I won the 2010 contest with Dr. Malley. Go to my blog on malleysurgical.com. Jennifer Short is my name and I have bloged about my process this whole time. I have lots of tips before and after the surgery. Be patient. in these 6 weeks for recovery I have watched what I ate, got used to no beverages with my meals and walked. I am very detailed with the blog. Go to it and I promise it will help you prepare and right after the surgery! Good luck! I am so happy for you! I have lost a dress size in those 6 weeks! My fill is Monday! Good luck! Jennifer

I am so happy for you! I was banded by Dr. Malley on August 31st. I have my first fill this Monday. But on my own during the 6 weeks of healing-I am watching what I eat, getting used to no beverages with my meals and walking! I have lost a dress size just doing these things before my first fill! I love Dr. Malley. He is awesome! Take care and congratulations! Jennifer Short

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
