I am scheduled for April 7th I am on the preop diet but my stomach can not handle the shakes so I am doing protein then veggies and lots and lots of water and nothing else!

April is almost here. I just wanted to say good luck to our "pioneer" April Bandster Bunnies who are having their surgeries on April 1st and 2nd.

Best of luck to you and we will all be thinking about you and sending our support!

Montynic, DeeDee, HappyTrucker280, Mamasugar, and anyone else who is this week, we are with you!

:)

Thanks Froggie D! I plan on posting my surgery day experience and tracking my recovery progress as soon as I get home from the hospital and am feeling up to it. I don't think 4/1 can get here soon enough! :w00t:

I was scheduled for April 2 but now April 9, 2010. I have been on the South Beach Phase 1 diet for 2 weeks and have lost 16 pounds. Trying to cut down on my portion sizes now so maybe things will be a little easier. I look forward to my new journey!!!

Hey Bandster Bunnies! So I met with Dr. Nazarian today. He was very pleasant and no yawning, like a few people experienced in the past. I'm glad he was attentive and made good eye contact. He was very patient with my questions and I thought it was a decent experience.

I have a few tests to do before my surgery date, which means I'll be quite busy the next two weeks, with Dr. appointments and lab work.

I asked about the pre-op liquid diet and he said that my weight was within a range that did not require the diet. For those with a higher BMI he requires a post-op diet. I guess I'm fortunate, because I still get to eat food up until the night of my surgery. I also found out that I've dropped 3 pounds since my last visit. That's a good thing too.

I'm very excited. I hope I clear the EKG, and blood work. Wish me luck all!

Hey has anyone else been told that they'll have to have a hernia repair due to acid reflux? My doctor believes I have a hernia and said he will fix it at no extra cost. I hope this doesn't prolong my recovery!

Warmest Regards to all!

When I told my doctor about my recurrent heartburn she mentioned that I probably have a hiatal hernia and that she would fix it at no extra cost during surgery. Apparently it is a very common thing, especially among weight-loss patients, and it does not prolong our recovery.

Monty - I keep the economy size Tums next to my bed so I can sleep. It's ridiculous. Im glad it can be fixed. Now I can save my Tums money to buy a new pair of jeans ; )

I have a question. Where do April 2010 Banders post at the most. In here? In the April 2010 board? In the Group? Or all of the above? Just curious. :)

Definitely in the social group mamsugar started for all of us... we have about a dozen or so posts there so far. Granted, this thread is getting long and has a lot of posts on it, but the group will offer more.

April 8th at 10:30 am foe me!

I am on day 6 of 14 of the Optifast... and the first three days were a bear... but the last three were reasonable... Aunt Flo showed up this morning so I am HUNGRY today... but I'm behaving!

I have no idea how I am going to manage disney world on Thursday but I'll be darned if i'd dissapoint my step graddaughter!

Hugs,

Heather

Hey Bandster Bunnies. I just made my pre-op appointment for the EKG, X-Rays and Blood work. This is going to come up so fast. I'm starting to have doubts about the whole thing.

I am afraid that I'll be nauseous, but unable to throw-up because the band will be too tight. I'm also afraid that I'll just fail at this, like I've failed with the trainer, nutritionist and all my other attempts to keep myself at a healthy weight.

Guess I'm just in a very fearful place today because Im one step closer.

I hope I'm not alone in this.

Scared!

Ravyn

did my banner pop up? Not sure where to insert the address.

Hello everyone. As I mentioned before my last appointment was Friday. I've had my blood work, EKG, Psy Eva. I am just waiting on the Aenta final approval. Dr. Hollis, Houston, Tx requires you to lose 10 lbs before surgury so I will have to do the protein shakes for two weeks prior to surgury. Should I begin this now or is it 10 lbs from the date of approval? I am confused.

I was tentatively scheduled for the 9th of April until this morning. Now I am a for SURE! I wasnt expecting it this early as they just submitted the clinicals to the insurance last Tuesday. Started my preop Sunday just to be sure. I am kinda getting a bit nervous now. Good luck to all of us April bandersters.

I am schedule to my preop diet on April 8th. 2 weeks of liquids only...I'm a lil nervous about that. Partially because I am not good at getting in all my water. So, I am pushing really hard right now to up that so when my food will be liquid I won't stop drinking water.

Good luck with your surgery and I am sure you will do great!
