I need PJs
Hi, I only spent one night and just took some loose men's boxer shorts so my butt won't hang out from the hospital gown.

Did you get off Depression meds after surgery?
I had been on it for 4 years and just got weaned off last month. Had a few hot flashes when I got completely off but they have seemed to be gone now.

What Bougie did your Dr. Use?
Mine uses 40fr and I have heard that Kaiser uses 40 exclusively.

Unjury Strawberry
It wasn't my favorite either. I mix in a little Torani sugar free strawberry syrup or crystal like strawberry and that helps a lot. I also have put in blended strawberry yogurt low calorie kind. With the chocolate I use Hood's Calorie Countdown Chocolate milk it has less, sugar, carbs, and calories the skim milk yummm!

BM that looks like used "Coffee Grinds"
Check with your surgeon. Are you taking iron supplements? They can cause black stools but even if you are still check in.

Panties
LOL! In my day tongs were flip flops too! I have never tried them they just look uncomfortable as hell to me. There doesn't appear to be much vanity sizing in panties. Personally I rather the boy shorts they help hold in and hide the loose tummy skin;) I had trouble figuring what size I wore its not like you can try them on to see the fit (G) Right now I am between a 5 and 6 story of my life I am always between sizes.

Worried I screwed up big time
I loved mixing strained chicken noodle soup (I like it better then broth) and put in a scoop of chicken broth flavored protein powder.

Worried I screwed up big time
The list look good assuming you are eating the low fat beans and sugar free pudding. Becareful with the drinkable yogurts some are super high in sugar and not as much protein then a little greek yogurt .

HUGE BELLY HANGING DOWN
I like the shapewear tanks that go down to your tighs. Walmart (Danckins) and Maidenform carry leggings and pants and capris with tummy control that works well. As far as panties I like the boy shorts.

Tough Texan/scared to death
Oh boy do you bring back memories! I was actually happy when my surgeon was held up in traffic. I saw signs in everything from a sick cat to hold ups in getting my pre op tests taken, then I got a real sign a borderline EKG that is when I knew that this was something I had to do if I wanted to not only live but wanted my health back and not find myself needing joint surgery, or heart surgery, or rehab for a stroke. It has been 10 months now and I can not say enough about how happy I am.

Greek Yogurt
I use it in my protein shakes and will make sugar free pudding (1/2 skim milk 1/2 Greek yogurt) I also will mix sugar free tarino syruips in it strawberry is my favorite.

Recovery question
The first week was the hardest for me but truly not that bad just a generally crappy feeling. No bed rest it is best to get up and walk as much as you can. The hardest part is to get all your fluids in you pretty much have to take tiny sips all day long. I had a drain for nine days which seems to be unusual but it wasn't bad just awkward. Some people struggle with nausea and gas I had only a little. My stomach was swollen the first few days. By day 6 I felt pretty much like my self. Diarrhea is common fluids in fluids out. I had surgery on Tuesday and stopped pain meds by Saturday.

EGD - what to expect
My experience was similar to Debbie's I wasn't completely out I drifted in and out because I had been having problems they took small samples of my stomach lining it didn't hurt just felt odd. The worst part was my nose kept itching and they would not let me scratch it! Afterwards we went to a movie and out to eat and I was just fine. Oh and before they started they made me swallow this awful gunk to numb my throat so I won't gag.

BMI too low
Hi, I had the same problem and ended up being self paid. I know of a lot of sleevers who went through an appeal process with their insurance companies and won them so that may be worth looking into..

3500 Calories per pound of fat?
You have to consume 3500 calories above your daily metabolic rate (what you expend) I don't know about men but the average adult woman expends between 1500-1700 a day add exercise maybe 2000 -2300 so if post sleeve she would technically lose 1/2 a pound a day but then other things come into play water retention/loss, starvation mode, the need to dump the toxins that build up during rapid weight loss. In other words it is complicated those 3500 calories do equal a pound of fat but it works cleaner on gaining it then losing it.

BMI 31-33 Should I or Shouldn't I???

water aerobics?
Hi All, I was watching Extreme Makeover Weight Loss the other night. It was with a man named James who had 250lbs to lose. He had been doing water areobics and the host Chris Powell pretty much poopooed it implying that it did not offer enough resistance and would not get him anywhere. I always thought water aerobics was a good form of exercise. A friend who does it an hour three times a week told me that she is suppose to be burning 500 calories an hour. How can that not be good?

bowel issues
I was totally regular before the sleeve but have been having issues since. It doesn't seem diet related but I'll try and monitor it more. I see my PCP on the 27th and ask her then. Thanks

Feeling of regret.. :( :(
I think everyone feels like this off and on during the first week or two. I remember thinking what have I done even before I got home! I kept a tiny two ounce cup and a bottle of what I was drinking near me at all times. You will be able to enjoy a BBQ with friend and pizza and movie you'll just be happy eating one piece of pizza and maybe a leg and wing of chicken once you are fully healed and you will be fully satisfied with the smaller amounts.

Upper Arms???
Oh I love Kai! Hannah is great too and the after care is bar none the best and they are just so helpful and supportive. There is a mini arm lift with a smaller incision. The crinkly skin get me my knees have wrinkles but I will take it over the fat any day.

bowel issues
Hi All, I am nine months out and still have issues with gas and diarrhea. I may have a couple of days that are good and then get diarrhea and gas. Anyone have this? Any ideas?

Still craving carbonation
I also read that you want to have it room temperature because when it is cold and hits your body temp tummy it releases the bubbles faster.
