  1. Welcome to the loser's bench! I went to WDW a year after my sleeve what an amzing feeling to tighten seatbealts on the plane and not having to sit in the fat people seat on the Hogworts ride.
  2. Thanks. Who would have thought I'd actually need carbs LOL! We've had it super hot with high humidity here and the smell one day actually stung my eyes.
  3. Thanks. The returns from the sleeve keep coming. No more blopp pressure issues, no elevated cholesteral and no pounding irratic heart beats whenever I exercise. Another unexpected perk is that on special occaisions the hubby and I can go out to an expensive restaurant and share a dinner and leave satisfied! I can shop online and the clothing fits well except for one top that was way too big. I wear size 4-6 pants tops M-L. I am over the moon with the sleeve sure I have to be careful take my vitamins and supplements and make sure to eat my protein frist at meals but all that is nothing to what the weight cost me.
  4. It is pretty common for the weight loss to slow down after 6-7 months because that is when everything has healed but it does still come off. You have averaged over 10lbs a month that is marvelous!
  5. Hi, Laley when I work out espceially in the heat I notice my sweat smells like amonnia. What am I lacking in my diet?
  6. Building muscle will help fill out the extra skin but really genetics, amount oif weight lost and age play major roles in hoiw much you end up with. It takes about a year after you have lost all the weight for what will tighten to tighten.
  7. I went from a small D to a large B after my surgery but while they got smaller the skin is still D size so they have fallen and won't get back up unless I have surgery
  8. Hi All, Today is the second anniversary of the day my life was change by Mister Sleevie! It has been a wonderful adventure so far! Maintaining after the sleeve is so much easier I bounce up and down 5 pounds still drink a protein shake every morning and walk daily.
  9. Hi All, I saw his last ***ht and was at tears at the end. The kid in the video is named Nathan and his story is real he gets up every morning to do his run before school. Very inspirational: http://www.dietsinreview.com/diet_column/07/best-olympics-commerical-nikes-find-your-greatness-jogger/
  10. I'll be two years out this month. I average around 1500 a day I probably burn around 400 a day with exercise.
  11. You can not take too much. You absorb better with the shots you only absorb about half the b12 orally. My surgeon said to take it 2-3 times a week,
  12. I did a lot of research before my surgery it was my surgeon who suggested I read up on forms like this one. So no there really isn't anything I wish I had known. As far as your gastric issues it takes 6-7 months before everything is healed and running normally. It also should help now that you have know about the acid reflux. As far as complications go can anyone really know how bad something is going to feel before actually experiencing it? My surgeon warned me that "...the first two weeks are hell..." and I was still surprised by how crappy I felt the first week.
  13. I averaged 10 lbs a month for the first 7 months then it slowed down to where if I want to lose more I have to work at it. Mind working at it now is nothing like working at it before the sleeve. I am 5'2" and it is weird when I was younger early 20s 130 was *fat* to me and yet today I fell skinny at 140!
  14. Hi Again, I had my surgery in S.Ca and was private pay. I went home with a drain which is unusual and it really wasn't a big deal. I would suggest you two have someone home with you for a day or two. Be sure to have plenty of jello, popsicles, protein broth on hand when you get home because you really won't feel up to going out the first week.
  15. A 40 bougie is the size of a sharpie pen and is a fairly commonly used size. I believe that is the only size Kaiser uses. You and I were pretty much at the same place when we had surgery I was 208 BMI 38.9 on the day of surgery. I too got a 40 fr and today almost two year later I bounce between 138-145.
  16. I agree around the second month is when I really started to notice mostly what I started to notice was loose skin and the feel of my body noticing bones and how small my tighs started to feel in the shower. It took longer for my eyes to catch up.
  17. I love my bodybugg and think it is far superior to the fitbit. The activity manager doesn't just calculate your steps but will also tell you what you typically burn in a 24hr period so you know what you daily average is and can calculate your calorie intake.
  18. You may want to try some soy supplements to see if they help. Fat is where we store estrogen so while you are losing rapidly your levels can go a little bunkers. It should settle down once your wright and diet stablizes.
  19. I averaged 10 lbs a month so 58 lbs in 4 months sounds fantastic to me. Do you have any medical insurance? Your regular doctor can certainly monitir your iron, calcium, d ect. As far as vitatmins I take a multi, calcium and a d3 along with a b complex daily and a b12 three times a week. You need to be sure you get your protein in.
  20. Dr Lyass in S.Ca 8-24-10. My starting BMI was 38 preop weight 218 now two years later I bounce between 138-145.
  21. You are still early out. It takes about 6 months for everything to heal and adjust to the sleeve. Walking helps a lot. You may be eating too fast or a spoon full too many. I would get hicups if I just hicupped when I was full. You'll get the hang of it.
  22. The first week was rough for me but I think a big part of it was actually the cold turkey caffiene withdrawls. I was pretty deligent about getting my protein/fluids in and getting up and walking even if it was just walk through house several times a day. I went home with a drain which I kept for nine days (very untypical post op) but it really wasn't much of an issue. It will be two years next month and I still love my sleeve. My weight has stayed stable I bounce up and down maybe 5 pounds. I still have to watch what I eat and exercise but it is so much easier. If I am going to a party or something I'll eat something with high protein like a hard boiled egg and I can walk away from temptation. I still drink a protein shake every morning (I do a little doctoring and love them).
  23. Like many of the others I wish I could have had it sooner. Its the best thing I have ever done for myself. A magic bullet it isn't but it is a great tool.
  24. Apparent she is doing a reality show and the surgery is going to be addressed. As far as money I don't think she has as much as you'd think. I just hope this is some ratings thing.
  25. When I first heard it I was sure she had DS or possibly the sleeve I was kind of shocked that they'd do the lapband. I seem to remember that Sharon Osborne went that route and recently had the band emoved.
