Congratulations!! I am scheduled to be banded on 10/8! In your post you stated you hoped you did not get cancelled again - how high was your blood sugar that caused them to cancel? One diabetic to another, I do not want to be cancelled! I can not wait to follow your journey!

Hello Outrageous Octobers! I just came home from a fabulous family vacation to an email from my patient advocate that my insurance has approved my surgery and I have a date - 10/8!!!! I am so excited!!!! I can not wait to embark on this journey with each of you! Hugs, Jane

I just returned from a fabulous family vacation to an email from my patient advocate letting me know that I have been approved by my insurance!!!! And have a surgery date of 10/8!!! I look forward to beginning this journey with all of you fellow October 2010 bandsters!!!!

I have a friend who used the surgeon you speak of, and has had tremendous results. I scheduled an appointment with him, but then decided to search out other surgeons who didn't have such a steep after care fee. Good luck to you in your search.

Paigey, Good Luck to you!! I am in Stockbridge too! Looked at the SRMC program, but my UHC (through Delta) requires that I have surgery at a Center of Excellence and SRMC is not one. I will be having my surgery at Atlanta Medical Center with Dr. Titus Duncan. I am currently waiting on insurance approval. Hoping to be banded shortly after you. My patient advocate has confirmed that she now has everything necessary to submit my paperwork to the insurance company for approval. I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for a response! Keep your fingers crossed please!!

LOL at Granny Lap!! You are silly girl! I would love to see 12 - I think I skipped it all together!!

I had my EGD, which is required by my surgeon, done this morning and it was a piece of cake. I was super worried about my gag reflex, but I did not even get close to knowing the scope was near my mouth LOL! Thank goodness for good meds! LOL! Apparently, I have a pretty "impressive" hiatal hernia that will be repaired as well. Had no idea! Now I am just waiting on my PCP to submit my 5 year weight history so everything can be submitting to insurance. Hopefully that will not take too long and I can get approval and get a surgery date!
