There are many different plans administered by UHC. My plan is through Delta Airlines and they require you go through Bariatric Resource Network to get approved to seek coverage. Check with your individual plan to see what their requirements are. Each plan seems to be different. Good Luck in your journey!

I am certainly no expert and still in the "learning" stages as well, but in my personal opinion before resorting to an attorney, I would see if your doctor could write a letter to the insurance company explaining your individual situation to see if there is anyway they would cover it. I have found appealing to be a lengthly process but one that is worth the fight. Good luck with your journey.

I was able to schedule my psych eval today for next Tuesday, 7/6. The doc said it is 3 hours worth of testing and then a 45 minute interview. My goodness!

Sounds like we are pretty much on the same track! I attended my seminar on 6/19 and will have my surgeon consult on 7/22. Now that I have made the decision to have the LapBand, I want everything done like yesterday LOL! Good Luck to yoU!!! I hope the timing works out perfectly for you.

Just wanted to say Hello! I am just starting this journey.....been researching the LapBand for a few years and have finally decided that I am in the right frame of mind to do this! I am anxiously awaiting my surgeon appt on 7/22!
