Acid!
Ok, I have put off writing this post because I just don't want to admit I have a problem . . but if anyone has suggestions that may help, well . . I just have to ask. I used to have pretty bad acid reflux before surgery. Since surgery I have cut the Prevacid in half (only one a day instead of 2) . . but I've increased it back up to 2 for the last week because I have this feeling - not of acid in my throat like I used to get, but my chest hurts near my sternum (band I assume) and a weird fluttery feeling . . .I had it one time before surgery and actually went to ER and was admitted .. . after a hundred tests for heart, they told me it was my acid reflux. So I'm not happy that it's back . .. actually I was extremely happy that it was gone! I don't want the acid to affect my band. Anyone else have this trouble? Today is the third episode I've had recently for no apparent reason and I've been dealing with it all day today (ok, so I say no apparent reason . ..it probably is stress related - very busy time at work right now and I was in meetings from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) . .I've tried adding Tums as well as GasX . . but I'm not getting it under control - - -help me out here band buddies . ..what do ya know about it? Thanks!!

Throwing up EVERYTHING I have eaten today???
I was thinking the exact same thing as sandy . . .stress will definitely contribute to stomach upset . .. I'm dealing with it right now with acid . . have not had a problem since surgery in July and right now is a very stressful time at work - was in meetings today from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. - seriously . ..have been fighting acid all day. Just a thought . . in any case, I hope you are better tomorrow . . sometimes the unexplained things are frustrating, huh?

Taking the Plunge
Hi Nana . . you are right, there is a lot to learn and this is definitely a great site to read and learn. Most people on here will offer advice, but will always say . . follow your doctor's orders. It seems that different doctors have different plans for patients and it's best to follow your doc's advice. You are correct about shrinking the liver . . they don't want to nick it when they go in with the scope. Good that you are committed . .. it will help you. The band is a great tool, but you still have to do your part. Sounds like you're on the right track - you'll do great. Keep posting and let us know how you're doing - we're here for you!!

That doggone Crunch n Munch!
Janet . .. what would you be writing back to one of us if WE had posted that we "gave in to temptation" with a little crunch n munch? I KNOW you would be right there supporting us and saying everything that Bk and lucky above have said . . . so take YOUR advice and be gentle on yourself - it will be fine. You're so encouraging to us, so let us give some back to you today . . ok?

First Fill Here I Come!
Well first . . I am SO glad that your other tests had good results - yeah! And I'll be glad to hear about your fill on Thursday and to know what differences you experience, as you know I'm in the same boat - have not had a fill yet, but still losing 2 - 3 pounds a week usually, so don't feel ready for one. So, best wishes and I hope this fill puts you right where you need to be for now!

Need your help... researching my options...
Hi Rhonda . . I was banded 7/15/10 . . so only 8 weeks into it. You sound so much like me with up and down weight and that was my deciding factor. I have said since the start that I don't care if the weight comes off slowly, just so it stays off. I have absolutely no regrets. I have lost 39 pounds - including the 10 pounds pre-op. This is an amazing tool. Don't get me wrong, I feel that I still have to work at what I'm doing, but as the weight started coming off, I feel so much better and have more energy. I haven't had the need for a fill yet, so I probably could eat bread and other things . .. I've read a lot of posts where people talk about bread or other foods getting stuck, so I chose to play it safe and not eat them. I have toast sometimes and do fine with that. I'm not hungry except when it's time to eat - that is the most amazing feeling and I think that's what helps me honestly say that I don't crave anything . . at all! I get filled up whet I eat, and I drink lots of water in between meals and I'm just not hungry - truly words I never thought I would say! Best wishes in your decision!

Excitement
Hi chriper . . I went "closet shopping" after 3 or 4 weeks because some of my clothes were too big - it's an amazing feeling. I have since put away all of my 2x clothes and am wearing 1x / my pants are down from 20 or 22W to 18W . . I was banded 8 weeks ago yesterday. I've lost 40 pounds (including the 10 pounds pre-oop) and I feel fantastic!! Best wishes to you and keep us posted on your progress for sure!
