i had my first fill today. it was a breeze, he had me lay down and put my hands under my head and do a partial situp. he pressed for the port and shoved the needle directly in NO PROBLEMS, just the stick of the needle. he then had me set up with the needle still in place and drink water, which was the way to gauge how much saline to put in the band. he had me drink until the water sat in my throat for 1-2 sec and if it then went down without issue then thats how much saline i received which was approx 3cc's. today is a good day i have more restriction and i feel like i will be a success. i wish you all much success in your journey.- Its been One Month
hello all. i cant say its been a blast, weight wise. My start weight one week before surgery was 222.0 and this morning i weighed 199.2 which is great. but at times i did'nt lose anything. the scale would not move, nothing. this went on for about 8 days. i keep trying to be positive, thinking it has to move soon. so be patient, not worry sooner or later the scale will comply. i will be having my first fill on monday and i can't wait! restriction again at last ( i hope). no matter what folks hang in there..somedays you will have joy and other days bluh. to keep in focus i look ahead 1 year and not 1 month. i see the future and boy does it look great. i'll let you know how my first fill went see ya on monday.- No Results, No Success
Please don't give up..i think your doctor is just being cheap! you may want to call your insurance company to ask how many fills will they pay for?? maybe it's a matter of monies rec from your insurance company..i bet if you were paying him cash money you would be able to get a fill every month to six weeks. my doctor give you your first fill at 1 month then 6 weeks later and so forth. hang in there..no not give up- 3 week post band
Please don't worry..it will happen. Some people lose it faster than others.. Just follow the dr advice and do not lose focus. just think in terms of months not weeks. you cant decrease your calories and not lose weight. oh, i did not have to do a pre op diet so maybe thats why i lost the weight...hang in there.- 3 week post band
it's been 3 weeks since my band. it's been easy so far. i follow the dr's instructions and do as i'm told. i started mushy foods yesterday and i stayed fuller longer about 5hours. as of todays date i lost 20lbs (this is just since my band). i try and walk 3 miles a day. my goal now is to get all my water in ( very hard). I will post next week. i hope you all are doing well.- Band 8/10/2010
Today is week one. And boy was it easy, no pain, no gas, no problems thus far. I had my post op yesterday and i lost 13lbs in 6 days (my surgery weight was 222 and yesterday it was 209). I woke up this morning with my monthly friend so i expect maybe 2-3 lbs this week. Or am i dreaming...lets dream. If anyone is worried about staying with the protein diet, don't. If you take in enough protein and stay busy you will be successful. I will keep you guys posted. Everyone have a great day....- Can you feel your stomach and your band?
your right. i had my lap band surgery on tuesday so its been 2 days. i can feel everything. i have to relearn my body most important i have to listen and feel it. no pain though, just new feelings. i have to say so far i like them. i know the band is there and doing it's job.- just band

i had my lap band on tuesday 8/10th i went in at 5:30am, they processed me and by 7am i was in the surgery unit. i was the first surgery of the morning and boy everyone from start to finish was just great! i went under at 7:30am and in post op by 10:30am. the surgery took only about 45min. hardly no pain at all. i took the first injection for pain but after that i did not require any additional medication for pain. i was home by 12:15p. slept most of the day still no real pain, just soreness. it's now wednesday morning and doing just great. no gas, no problems.- Surgery Tomorrow: JUNE 29th!
