  1. Sandy since you have had the band for a while now I am sure it is not the complication that the previous posted mentioned and is likely the bug that most others suggested. I agree with Betsy though- get the doc to call in an anitemetic now before the holiday!!! The repeated regurgitation can aggravate the band site and cause slippage (or so I have heard).
  2. I was on clears for the first 10 days.... as previous poster said had to be something you could see through... when I moved to liquids it was something that could be drunk with a straw at room temp (jello, pudding liquifies etc..) of course not actually using a straw at the time... When I was dying for something on the clear liquid phase I bought some egg drop soup and strained it- It was like heaven. Good luck on the journey!
  3. 35 minutes on the elliptical yesterday and another 25 on the treadmill. Was shooting for an hour on the elliptical but I broke my foot over the winter and the elliptical was making my foot go numb  For some reason it wasn't an issue on the treadmill.... Do you think we should start a new thread on Monday or stick with this one? 136/170
  4. Looks like we are having a good week here!!! Froggie that's great that your DH is going to the gym with you. I did 30 mins upper body, back and butt yesterday... Hoping to get on the elliptical today! 76/170
  5. I am so sorry that you had to deal with such an unkind person. It seems that post op diets vary from md to md... If you were only on clears for 24 hours having a little bit of a protein shake yesterday shouldn't have been a problem... As for the popsicles my doc did make the distinction between "sugar free" and "no sugar added"- the first was OK not the second. And even if you screwed it up some how you shouldnt be treated that way... I would make sure you stick to liquids though just to let your stomach heal from the operation...
  6. 30 mins of aerobics this evening- I can't believe I exercised twice in one day... Juliansmom you inspired me Thanks 46/170
  7. Jazz do you have the lap or realize? Seems like the folks I know who got realize get bigger fills... I got 5cc in my first fill my co worker has a lap and her max she can get is 4cc...
  8. Only two months into this but the one thing that I mini pb/slimed on was turkey bologna!! EWWW Doughy bread was a painful experience as well.
  9. Vjack- 15 mins a day is not a small goal at all!!! Glad to have you aboard as well!!! How have you been doing this week?
  10. Jilly & Froggy- Welcome aboard! Glad to have more company here. I have been a slacker these past two days with exercise... did too 12 hours shifts and well just went home and slept! So this morning I had to do something- 16 minutes of yoga... it's a start right. Hope to get some gym time in after work today.... 16/170 (lol that looks so pathetic)
  11. I am in the same boat here.... had my best week of exercise and I gained this week! Granted I made some poor food choices- but even the week before I didn't lose a pound. So frustrating, but I think it will pass. We all seem to be around the two month mark. Naan I hear you on wishing my weight was bouncing in the 160s I'd be so close to goal!!
  12. Up a pound. I made some bad food choices this week.... and the scale shows it!
  13. Wow I can't believe that occurred at a meeting! It has been discussed here before and there are some (myself included) who did it once or twice when on liquids but if its a regular thing its definitely a disorder!! I saw an episode of intervention about a women who did this all the time, it was so gross- she was sitting at a child birthday party with a chew can (like a tobacco chewer uses)- poor kids were horrified!
  14. Hmm interesting question. Most people are dying to get off liquids!!! As far as gaining on mushies I wouldn't worry- weight loss does seem to slow down a bit for most folks, but as long as you make good food choices you shouldn't be gaining. The band is designed to work with real, solid food. If you aren't eating solid food it is possible that your doc won't give you a fill. That being said I would be lying if I didn't say that I wish I had stayed on liquids a bit longer than I did....
  15. I second the homemade soups... Every so often I make a big pot of a nice veggie soup and then freeze half of it to use later. For canned soups (I do eat them on occasion) look for ones in the health food section, diabetes section etc... Pritkin, Amy's, Trader Joe's etc... The ones in the cartons tend to be a little healthier too..
  16. 45 mins today on the Wii Fit Plus- mixed it up cardio heavy with some yoga and strength straining... I made my goal  and I can honestly say that I was contemplating not exercising after work today but I so wanted to be able to post that I made it on here... so thanks! 160/150 Next week I am adding ten more minutes to what I did this week so new goal: 170 Minutes
  17. I have both and hardly use them... Blender gets more use than the juicer by far. What I have used the most is a mini food processor. Very easy to clean and store and cheap!
  18. Windus- I didnt have acne as a kid even but whenever I would do a cleanse or lose weight quickly I would break out. I believe that my body is getting rid of toxins and some of that is being released by the skin. Fat cells hold onto a A LOT of crap in our bodies.... so when we break them down it can come out through the skin... are you getting the pimples in places where you sweat? I use the Neutrogena acne system as needed and it usually does the trick for me... I broke out soon after being baded but it has gone away as my weigh loss has slowed
  19. Most will agree that the band isn't work at its peak until you find your sweet spot. After the post op swelling goes down you will need to use will power and self restraint to keep losing.(you will see it called bandster hell on here) I have had one fill of 5cc in a realize band and still don't have good restriction...
  20. Laura the 150 is for the week!! I usually exercise late afternoon/evening after work. One day this week I went to the gym in the AM because my son slept out.
  21. I had one hanging out as well surgeon I work with clipped it off for me.. once they are outside your body they won't dissolve so you can clip it off or have your surgeon do it. Just don't pull as someone else said!!!
  22. Sorry about your loss! I too found myself emotional eating this week (albeit for different reasons)- at least you recognize what you are doing and are looking for alternatives. I agree with previous post exercise is a good pick me up- you feel great after too instead of guilt.
  23. That's AWESOME Juliansmom!! Way to go... one day I'll get there! 35 minutes on the elliptical today. I need 35 tomorrow to make my goal for the week. 115/150
