  1. Started New Thread.. #4 See you there!
  2. Starting a new thread again.... This thread is to motivate us to exercise and get ideas from others. It has been so good for me in getting me off my butt!!! My goal for this week is 185 minutes. Monday: 15 strength training in AM Tuesday: 15 strength training in AM, 35 elliptical in PM 65/185
  3. Welcome fellow Jerseyite! Congrats on the loss. Walk walk walk to help with that gas.
  4. My coworkers family is from Columbia and her mother just came back with some girdle like things that apparently all the women use down there after childbirth to make their stomachs flatter... my friend is dieting and using one as well- she says she knows people who have been successful with it. I would ask my doc before using it because I am thinking the pressure may put pressure on the band?
  5. 30 minutes cardio max 170/180(pretty sure I can sneak 10 minutes in tomorrow
  6. Congratulations! Good job losing so much with out it!! I just got restriction myself- fill last Thursday and it hit me on Monday... 7cc in a 14cc
  7. I carry my weight in the middle as well and when I had a trainer a few years back she said what Jachut did- focus on the cardio. She also told me not to do any weights except upper body (arms) because from carrying all the fat around my lower body was already pretty built up (she is right my legs are strong as hell). If I had lost a bunch of weight with her (I didn't, I stopped going) she was then going to incorporate more weights to tone my abs and back and such... long story short she said CARDIO CARDIO CARDIO
  8. Had my surgery on a Tuesday- back to work on Monday
  9. Think protein- look for shakes with high protein or add some protein powder to the slimfast ones. Protein shooters, egg drop soup was great for me (strained). What type of diet are you on?
  10. When I went for a fill and told my doc I felt like I was losing to slowly he looked at me and said "When was the last time you lost this much weight in this amount of time?" Who cares who lost more- you just lost 13 lbs in less than two weeks.... plus its really not all about the scale- measure your waist- buy an article of clothing 2 sizes too small and try it on every week- it is amazing how sometimes the scale isn't moving but those pants are getting closer and closer to buttoning....
  11. Katy--- Don't worry... the first few weeks are an emotional roller coaster but I promise it does get better. For fluids my friend taught me a trick to get a 1oz medicine cup and drink something from it every fifteen minutes- helped a lot in those first few days to make sure I was drinking and it occupied my mind a bit. Maybe try talking a walk to get away from the parents.... and ask your mom how she would feel if you went home- spin it like you don't want to be a bother and feel strong enough to go.... I hope you feel better soon- all those drugs should be out of your system soon and the breathing should get better as the trauma from the tube that was stuck down your throat heals.
  12. 20 minute walk around the track 140/180
  13. I agree with others about the Protein. I keep a Protein Bar in my purse all the time for "emergencies" and I also keep Protein drinks at both of my offices. When I do snack (which isn't often- I was a grazer preband so have to try to not snack) some better choices have been: trail mix (nuts and a little chocolate), cheese sticks, 100 calorie snack packs, a spoon of Peanut Butter and yogurt. I have made bad choices too-everyday is a learning process for me.
  14. NSV is non scale victory- PB is productive burp- I have never actually done it- but from these boards I gather that it is how some peoples bodies deal with being stuck- causes wrong foods, too much food, food not chewed enough etc...
  15. I had post op restriction as well- it was wonderful while it lasted. It went away about 2 months out- I has my third fill last week and now I have a different type of restriction.... not sure what it is supposed to feel like but as long as it helps you control your portions and keeps you satisfied then enjoy it
  16. Thanks for starting this post... I too start my morning with a Protein shake- EAS low carb is my favorite. Grandma- I eat salad as well because I feel icky when I don't get my veggies in- I sneak protein in them with Beans or tuna or chicken (no mayo)- for dressing I use balsamic vinegar and some oregano. I'm not a superstar in the weight loss but I have been slow and steady and even though my scale isn't showing it I recently dropped another pant size and notice such changes in things like the way I fit in seats- so remember to look for NSVs too!
  17. Today is a good day. I wrapped my foot so I could try the elliptical again- the ones that I usually use were occupied so I tried the other type in my gym and it was so much easier on the foot For me no other machine gets me sweating like the elliptical so this is a very good find. Keep up the good work everyone- you guys keep me motivated. 120/180
  18. 40 minutes of cardiomax.. was a great workout tonight :blushing: 80/180
  19. 15 minutes strength training in am 25 minutes walk at lunch 40/180
  20. I like V8 too, when I drink a little can (low sodium) it gets things moving even without the oil....
  21. 30 minutes walk and 15 minutes strength training Did not make my goal for the week... but its ok cause I had sick days LOL Shooting for 180 again next week- Will do it this time!
  22. Thank for sharing... Lane Bryant came out with something similar but they are $$$
  23. Hey Moma- I was just talking to my doc about this yesterday actually. I asked him about using straws and he told me that some people take too much air in when they drink because they gulp. He said the key is sipping.... (and FYI he said it was fine to use a straw as long as I sipped rather than gulped)
  24. 15 minutes abs 15 minute walk 105/180 I have some serious work to do tomorrow!!! Shooting for 60- then 15 mins Sunday before I pull a 12 hour shift..
