  1. I took Ibuprofen for over a year practically daily. My gastro doc made me stop... and let's just say that things got moving pretty quickly once it was out of my system! Like people have said everyone is different...
  2. I forgot to add that I had my first stuck episode OMG that freaking HURT!!!! No PB or slime though...
  3. So my weekend away was a bit of a disaster... I definitely ate things I shouldn't have (chips, pasta)... although I did do a lot of walking. So far no change on the scale and I managed to keep the 2 lbs I (finally) lost last week off. Even thought I don't know you guys I missed you! I missed the accountability to this board and I missed my food logging (I was out of the country so $$$ for using my phone).. So far today has been a little bit of a struggle. I did great for breakfast- protein drink- lunch was veggie soup.. then I was stuck late at work and munched on some chex mix BOOO and had boneless chicken wings for dinner. I should have packed extra good stuff in case I was late! Lesson learned... protein shooter or something similar will be with me tomorrow. Anyways its great to be back and I hope June is a loser!!!
  4. I am super discouraged too... Hopefully there is something good coming for both of us.
  5. The only airline I have ever heard really does this is Southwest... the antifat people airline,
  6. I am four weeks out and in the same position. My scale hasn't moved in a week... ugh... I log on sparkpeople and am consistently under in calories and carbs. I can't make sense of it... I am so annoyed I almost went to Wendy's after work thinking screw it I guess it doesn't work (thankfully I talked myself out of it). It actually looks like I have gained back some weight when I look in the mirror UGHHH I have read so many posts saying wait for restriction- but I have some restriction still from surgery and am eating so little I don't see what difference restriction will make.... Hopefully someone has some insight here... I am considering going back on liquids.
  7. You can always say your going vegetarian!
  8. OK this is annoying!!!! I was banded on 4/27... lost nicely.. eating a protein diet and around 800 calories a day... I weigh myself on Mondays and Thursdays (record on Mondays) I am annoyed because I lost two pounds from last Monday to Thursday and now I gained them back!!! I know I know bandster hell and such- but I actually have restriction without a fill! So although ultimately it is a wash from last Monday- nothing gained nothing lost I am still annoyed... thanks for letting me complain :tongue2:
  9. Ravyn... you are not alone I had a lot of post op restriction with an empty band. I am almost a month post op and I still have some. Before surgery I could EAT!!! Now I get full fast. Granted I can eat more than two weeks ago but it is still not nearly as much as I used to be able to eat. What I think has been helping my hunger is that I am eating a mostly protein diet. It definitely fills me longer. I have also made a point of not eating pasta, bread and rice. The one time I ate some pastina (on my docs diet) it made my heart pound from the rapid rise in blood sugar that pasta causes and that was enough for me to say "never again"-- at least for the time being.
  10. I used (and still do occasionally) the protein bullets/shots- they are 3oz and have anywhere from 25-45g protein in them... I have seen em at Walmart, Target and GNC- there are a lot of different brands some taste better than others- I liked the proslam45 best- someone on here suggested adding crystal light to make em taste better....
  11. I was on clears only in the beginning and when I felt starved I got some egg drop soup and then strained it... it helped immensely (although now I can't even bear to smell it LOL)
  12. Seriously I commend you for lasting that long... I was on clear liquids for ten days and almost went batty... just make sure you don't jump ahead to quick- I went from purees to soft to fast and it hurt so I had to go back for a bit.
  13. Keara- I definitely questioned things post op- Between the pain meds, low caloric intake andafter effects of anesthesia, your body and mind have been on a roller coaster.... Please give it some time until your head is clear.... as they say "This too will pass"
  14. I am currently using sparkpeople.com... I have used the dailyplate.com as well... both are great. Spark people has a free blackberry app works on all models except the storm..
  15. Did anyone's doctor put them on Actigall after surgery to prevent gallstones? My surgeon prescribed them but I am hesitant since all meds have side effects and I don't like taking any that are not necessary.
  16. What did the doc say? I have a rash around my port incision... some sort of allergic reaction but its just on the skin... itches like mad. I am using hydrocortisone cream and xyzal pills for relief.
  17. I was just brushing up on this yesterday as it is suspected in a few kids at my per diem job... EBV aka Mono aka Kissing Disease... most of us have been exposed to it... spread through saliva.... watch the spleen.... exhaustion is common often for about a month... Never been diagnosed myself though! Hope you feel better soon  If I do remember correctly appetite loss may be a symptom as well- that could be a good thing:wink2:
  18. Congratulations! I vote for a pedicure for your reward. Thanks for sharing- I love reading success stories!
  19. Chuck I am with you on avoiding some foods. I am focusing on Protein foods and staying away from Pasta, bread and potato chips!! I have just started logging on spark people- although they keep telling me my calories are too low (700-900 range).
  20. Howdy Fellow Bunnies!!! I am well except this itching... seems I have hungry and not hungry days... but I always reflect back and realize that when I eat a lot its not really that much lol...
  21. I used the protein shooters (seen em at GNC, Walmart and Target)-- 25-45 grams of protein in 3 oz.. not the tastiest but a easy way to get the protein when on liquids (I was clears for 10 days)... Pro Slam tasted the best to me..
  22. Anyone else's incisions itch like hell? I am using vaseline lotion but OMG the itching is horrific!!!! Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I was banded on 4/27/ I currently have healthnet although I started the process on CIGNA- CIGNA sucked and was making me jump through hoops... Healthnet approved in a few hours after my doc submitted all the info. There are a few issues now but that is just because I was approved for overnight but ended up going home that day. My docs office isn't concerned and are just saying they have to resubmit. The one thing I would check- I don't know if it is nationwide but here (NJ, NY) Healthnet was actually taken over by United so when my companies policy expires we will either have United or some other company if they choose to switch.
  24. Hi There- I don't have Afib but I do have a histroy of an irregular heartbeat that sometimes slips into an Aflutter type rhythm (albeit for a short time). I take a beta blocker to control it and my EKGs are normal. Before surgery my doc had me take a stress test which had some abnormalities so then I had to do a nuclear stress test. Since the NST was fine I was cleared for surgery. I did have to take my beta blocker before surgery. No complications at all. Good Luck!
