Lap Band Slip Twice
I just had reposition surgery last Thursday because my band had prolapsed. I am very worried that it might do it again, but I was so tight before for too long which is what caused mine from what the dr told me. I don't know what I would do if I had to have it done again since I am self pay. It isn't normal I don't think, and I don't think it happens to a ton of people.

Help! Slipped Band?
You probably would know if your band slipped. Last year all during the week I was fine. I woke up on Thursday morning, and it hurt bad even to swallow my saliva. I thought it was just me. It didn't go away, and I had reflux off and on so I went to the doctor Friday. He took all my fluid out. I went back later for fluro, and it had prolapsed. Thought it would correct itself, but it didn't. I had got down to my goal weight, but have gained a little back since then. I had mine repositioned last Thursday.

Banded 3/13/12
Thought this would be a good place to post this. I had reposition surgery last Thursday, and yesterday my left shoulder started aching and cramping. You know how you feel when you are running and you get that little cringe in your side? That is what is going on with my left side of my rid cage, and it is going into my left shoulder. Anyone know what this could be? Gas? I took some gas relief medicine, and it hasn't helped much. I couldn't even turn on my left side last night to sleep because it hurt so bad. I didn't have this pain my first go around so it's weird.

I Need More Protein. Please Help!
I'm not a fan of the ones you have to mix so I get Myoplex Lite in chocolate. It is pretty good. My first go around I bought some unflavored Protein powder from Walgreens. I cannot think of the name, but I mixed it in my smoothies on my full liquid diet. Why did they make you buy their own recommened brand? Seems like they could have given you some options. Just curious.

Big Mistake?
While I don't really think this had anything to do with why my band slipped, I am going to take it easy on the cokes. I didn't drink a lot of them the first go around, but I don't want to take a chance.

8 Days Post Op... Feeling Very Hungry!
I had reposition surgery last Thursday, and I am already getting hungry. The first go around it took awhile for the swelling to go down. I didn't really get hungry until the soft food stage. Now I am counting down the days until the 22nd so I can move to mushies. It will feel so good to eat something with a little substance.

Would This Be Good For Post-Op Full Liquids?
I found this WW recipe through Pinterest, and I was wandering if this would be okay for post op full liquids. Of course, I wouldn't drink it everyday, but I am starving and this looks very good. I don't have any fat free frozen yogurt, but I think I will buy some and try this out. Looks as if I would need to add more liquid because it appears thick. http://www.weightwat...1&sc=11

Am I Full Yet?
I've also realized that feeling full with the band is way different that feeling full without the band. It is kinda weird. Anyone else have the same experience? I used to eat until I felt like I would pop and have that pressure in my stomach, but it is different with the band.

Had Reposition Surgery Yesterday. Wow!
Thank you. I was a little worried about that.

Had Reposition Surgery Yesterday. Wow!
Also, the doctor put close to 5 cc in the band while he repositioned the band. Is that normal to add fluid during surgery?

Had Reposition Surgery Yesterday. Wow!
I believe this may be worst than the first go around. First off I was I was in surgery for like 1.5 hours because I had a lot of scar tissue due to my prolapse. They worked me over in the OR. I dry heaved two times and then I threw up my nausea medicine and my tea. When I got home I threw up my pain medicine. I just feel like crap. My nausea is much better this morning but my back is killing me. It will get better soon I hope.

Lap Band Slips
I wish I could say I had the same success, but I am having to have my band repositoned this Thursday. I am self pay so that set me back about $6,000.00 total. Not terribly bad, but I would rather not have had to have the surgery again. I was hoping mine would correct itself, but a fluro back before Christmas revealed it did not. I was diagnosed with a prolapse last March (I was too tight for way too long, but I didn't pay attention to my body), and I am just now deciding to get it fixed. Luckily, I had lost all the weight I needed to before this happend, but now I have gained almost 30 lbs. back. I don't look forward to the post op diet, but I'm ready to lose these extra pounds I have put on. Good luck!

Anyone Have Reposition Surgery?
I am having my band repositioned this coming Thursday. I have had a prolapse for the past year and am just now deciding to get it fixed. Is it better or about the same as the first go around?

Prolapse. Will Have Lap Band Surgery Again.
Sorry. I just saw this post. Back in March, I realized I was a little too tight. I went to have 1 cc removed. Well about three days later, I woke up and it hurt to swallow anything. I didn't go to the doctor until the following day because I just thought I was getting sick or something. He removed all my Fluid and scheduled me under fluro. That is how he found the prolapse. I have been feeling fine so I thought it was getting better. I didn't really have pain or nothing when I ate so I didn't think it was that big of a problem.

Prolapse. Will Have Lap Band Surgery Again.
Thank you. I am mad/upset, but I figured this would have to be done. The bulge above the band was getting smaller the last fluro he did, but yesterdays was bad. When I drank the liquid, it looked like a balloon. I was hoping if I let it rest for a few months that maybe it will go away, but I've already wasted like $1000.00 on fills and fluro just to have to have it all removed. I don't want to do that again so I guess I will have to pay to have it repositioned.

Prolapse. Will Have Lap Band Surgery Again.
I learned that I had a slight prolapse back in March. He took all my Fluid out for about a month, and then he started slowing adding fluid back in. I probably got 5 fills (2 under fluro). I went for my 2nd fluro today, and it has gotten worse. He said I could either let it rest for a few months to see if it corrects itself or have surgery to reposition the band. I am self pay so everything is out of pocket. I'm looking at $8,500.00 to get it fixed since he doesn't have to replace the band itself. I don't know what to do. I hit my goal back before I had this problem but I've gained about 20 lbs. since the prolapse. I do not want to ever go back to where I was before so I guess I will pay to have it redone this January. This really stinks though. I was hoping my insurance would pay for some of the hospital bill ( the doctor's bill is only $1,000.00), but I doubt they will since this surgery isn't covered. Anybody else have this problem where they had to have it fixed?

When do you think I will be in a size 14?
I agree that it is all about how you are built. I weigh 183-185, and I am sitting here in a pair of size 8 shorts.

tube came apart from port
If the tube came loose, wouldn't that make me lose all restriction I have meaning all the saline has leaked out? Just curious because I still have pressure like I am getting stuck if I eat too fast or something like that.

tube came apart from port
Thank you. I really appreciate it. I am still thinking some of it might be gas pains/bathroom issues because I keep having a lot of cramps near my belly button and a little below. Anyway, thank you again.

tube came apart from port
Well I heard from Urgent Care about the results of my CT scan. Unfortunately, all my pain is band related. The receptionist told me to see my doctor about the placement of the band. I was thinking I already know that because I have a prolapse (I am getting it checked on the 29th, but if this pain persists, I won't be able to last that long). I said so I had the scan for nothing because I already know this. She transferred me to a nurse who said they didn't see anything else wrong and that I needed to contact my band doctor or find another doctor to go to (I'm not sure what that means, but anyway). I asked about an obstruction, and she said they didn't find anything so my problems are band related. Not good. I am not having any problems eating or drinking so could it just be irritated or something? I am going away for the weekend so I am probably going to be in pain the whole time. Oh well. This stinks.

tube came apart from port
Well after almost going to the ER last night because I was in so much pain (I let out a lot of gas that helped a lot), I decided to go to Urgent Care today near where I live. I didn't much like the doctor as he was only in my room about 2 minutes. He ordered a CT scan which I just completed. I will know late today or tomorrow what is wrong. I pray it is only a bad case of bowel issues and not band related. I am leaning on the side of band related just because I have a prolapse, but hopefully it isn't. I didn't really have any pain while in the doctors office, but when I went to lay down for the CT scan, the pain started again. It progresses throughout the day and only is better when I am sitting down. Standing and laying down hurts.

lumb other than my port in the same area
I would call the doctor just to be on the safe side, but I believe you are okay. The port area will be sore for several weeks (it was for me at least). I still have pain every once and awhile in my port area, and I have been banded 1.5 years.

tube came apart from port
I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I haven't felt around my port site in a few days, but when I did yesterday, I could tell it had moved upward. Is this a sign of the tubing coming loose? I have had a slight prolapse since March, but I have been in pain ever since last Friday with these cramps. I'm so hoping that it isn't band related, and that it is just irritating my band. It feels like a runners cramp that you get, but this is worse and constant. I am starting to thing I am majorly constipated because I'm not having too much gas anymore, and I haven't been using the restroom all that well. The pain starts right under my ribcage and goes go to my belly button. I took some milk of mag. last night, and used the restroom a little this morning and I felt better. It gets worse though throughout the day. My doctor is out until the 20th so I hope this isn't going to hurt anything.

Stomach pains. Obstruction or band related?
I have been having these cramps in my stomach since last weekend. It kinda feels like a runners cramp that you get, but it is worse. Somtimes it hurts in my upper stomach, but then it goes to around my belly button area. I have a slight prolapse on the band since March, and I just got a small fill about 2 weeks ago so I thought it was something related to my band. Some days the pain isn't as bad, and others like today the pain is bad. It hurts to stand up straight and to lay down. The only thing that is helping the pain today is sitting up. I called my doctor, but he is out of the country until the 20th. I talked with the nurse because I felt my port, and it seems to have moved so I thought maybe that is what is causing the pain. She told me that the port can move after losing a bunch of weight, but I don't know if that is what is causing my pain or not. I did tell her about the pain, and she told me to monitor it and get back with her if it doesn't get better. Has anyone experienced anything like this or have their port move or had this kind of pain? I just took some milk of mag. to see if I can go to the restroom since I haven't been using the restroom all that well. I don't know what to do, and I am worried. I might need to call my regular doctor since my band doctor is out of the office.
