My mom had her lap band surgery done two years ago and her band has slipped TWICE. Both times they took out the fluid completely and it did NOT fix itself. She had to go into surgery her first time, and now they are scheduling her yet again. I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and if I should be worried? Is this normal? Should she just have the band completely removed? Please help!

I just had reposition surgery last Thursday because my band had prolapsed. I am very worried that it might do it again, but I was so tight before for too long which is what caused mine from what the dr told me. I don't know what I would do if I had to have it done again since I am self pay.

It isn't normal I don't think, and I don't think it happens to a ton of people.

I've heard that this can be a result of the band not being placed right. Maybe she should get an opinion from another doctor before going under the knife again.
