  1. Your weightloss is awsome! It does sound like you could use a small fill. I would talk to your doc. about it. Keep up the good work!
  2. Yes- I believe a liquid diet for a few days can help in getting over a plateau. Glad you saw the scale move. Keep up the good work!
  3. Did a 40 minute step aerobic routine at home. Plan to go to the gym tomorrow and do the treadmill.
  4. I can't tolerate spicy foods since being banded. I once tried some really spicy chicken sausage and it came right back up. Guess everyone is different. No reason not to try something spicy and see how you do.
  5. I feel the same way. I do a protien shake for breakfast (after I workout around 11) I eat lunch around 2:30 and usually still have some restriction. By 4 I am starving. I go for a fill a week from Monday- can't wait.
  6. Good for you! I had lots of small clothes in my closet that now are too big! I have 3 garbage bags full of clothes for my sister. If she doesn't want them they are going to good will. Never to be needed by me again.
  7. 40 minutes walk/jog on the treadmill again. I weigh myself Sun. hope the cardio I'm doing will pay off!
  8. The mind catching up to the body is a tough thing. I have lost 89 pounds and still get surprised when I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror. Also, people are starting to tell me I don't need to loose anymore weight. This shocks me. I think I need to loose about 20 more pounds. The psychologist involved with my wls told me to do 2 things. One is take a picture of myself every month. I do a front and profile shot in my bathing suit. I started a scrap book. It helps to look back and see how far I've come. She also said to keep one "fat outfit". Again, it helps me see how far I've come. It is hard, but important that you get a realistic body image. If you still feel fat, it can become a self profiling prophecy. Good luck to all!
  9. I agree- talk to your doc. about advancing to the next stage ahead of time. It's probably alright but I would check to be sure. Also, just be prepared that the first fill may not give you restriction. It took me 3 fills to get any restriction. I hope it works but just want you to realize it may not. Hang in there! You will get there and love your band.
  10. caricap- you are doing great! I worked out with my trainer- upper body. She really kicked me ass. We have moved from machines to free weights- they are harder for sure. Also did 40 minutes walk/jog on the treadmill.
  11. Congrats! Sounds like your off to a great start! Best wishes.
  12. I recovered quickly from surgery, as it seems most people do. I would say 2-3 days should do it. Moving around to take care of a 2 year old would probably be painful for a few days. Good luck on your surgery!
  13. It took me 3 fills to get to restriction. Since your too full for a real meal at dinner, sounds like you have some restriction. Best wishes!
  14. 40 minutes on the treadmill- walk/jog. Felt really good. My goal is to do cardio 5-6 times a week and weights 3 times a week.
  15. My doc. goes by how much I'm eating and how long I stay full too. I would talk to your doc. about how it's going. The 2 of you can decide together if you need a fill. My guess is a small one would tweek things a bit, but I am not an expert by any means. Good luck!
  16. It's totally non-productive to beat yourself up. Life got stressfull and busy so you slacked a little. It's great you didn't gain! 65 pound loss is great! Judging from your post, you know exactly what to do. Now do it! You can get back on track! Keep us posted on how your doing. Best wishes!
  17. Sorry to hear you had trouble. Congrats on getting to goal! I would do 2 things. One is beef up your excersise. Also, focus on eating the right things, even if portions are a little bigger than when you have restriction. You can do it! Just remember how hard it was to get those last few pounds off. You don't want to go there again.
  18. What you are going through is perfectly normal. It is known as bandster hell. It's the time after surgery, before you get fills that bring you to restriction. Hang in there! It will get better. For now I would focus on eating the right things (low carb, low fat, high protien), even if they are larger portions than you will eat once a few fills kick in. Keep us posted on how your doing.
  19. 4 glasses of wine would really impede your weightloss. Not only the calories but it will reduce your inhibitions and you may eat something you shouldn't. If you factor in the calories, 1-2 glasses probably won't hurt.
  20. You are doing great. Positive thoughts are so important but can be tough. It's so easy to beat ourselves up. I know I still struggle with it. Congrats on your surgery!
  21. Worked out with my trainer- abs, which I hate. However my lower back is not bothering me anymore. I am sure it's a combination of strengthening abs and the weight loss. Took a day off from cardio.
  22. Sounds like your a little tight. I would talk to the doctor about a slight unfill. He may not need to take everything out. I had a fill of .4 and needed an unfill. Doc. took out .3 and I was in a pretty good place for a while. Good luck!
  23. I did a step aerobic routine at home. It's about 40 minutes. I am able to do it more intensly (kicking higher et..) than I used to. It makes 4 days in a row of doing cardio. Weight trainer tomorrow- abs yuck!
  24. Sounds like to me you do need a fill. You seem to be experiencing a lot of hunger. The getting stuck episodes are probably because your eating too quickly and not chewing enough. Best of luck, keep up posted.
  25. I too was dissapointed the band didn't work right away. My second fill was 4 weeks from the first. I had been hungry but didn't think to ask to do it sooner. I don't know what my doc. would have done. It took 3 fills for me to feel restriction. Until then, it is doing it on your own. Until you have restriciton I would focus on eating the right things (low carb, low fat, high protien) for now, even if your portions are larger than what they will be with restriction. You can do it! The band will work, even if it doesn't feel like that now.
