  1. I didn't go through that. Everything stayed down just fine until I started getting fills. However, I think your doc. is right. Surgery probably caused swelling. Take it easy and try to get some fluids in. You don't want to get dehydrated. It will get better!
  2. Awsome work! Clothes getting to big is a great feeling. I desperatly need some new clothes (almost at goal) but am waiting. I am going to see my mom and sister in a couple weeks and we will go shopping together. It's nice to have outside opinions. Can't wait!
  3. I agree with the above advice. You probably have some swelling. Give it a few days to calm down. That is, as long as liquids are going down. When I've had trouble with protien shakes, I have watered them down. Hope you feel better soon.
  4. My doc. said erosion happens in 1% of cases.
  5. It is very typical to be tighter in the morning than in the afternoon/evening. newstacy09- IMHO your are not too tight. As long as you are eating enough to get your protien and calories in, I think your in a good place. Be sure to get your fluids in as well. Good luck!
  6. I totally agree with the above post. Excersise is vital to healthy weightloss. The benefits are just to numerous not to do it. When I've stalled I have increased the intensity of my workouts and the scale has started moving again. It is very difficult to start a workout regime but once you do it becomes second nature. For those starting out, start out slow and gradually increase the intensity and/or duration.
  7. It's frustrating to have the band, but it isn't working. Fills will provide restriction eventually, hang in there! It took me 3 fills to feel any restriction. Until you have restriction I suggest you eat the right foods (high protien, low carb, low fat) even if your portions are bigger then they will be when you have restriction. Good luck!
  8. I am a strong believer in the once a week weigh in. I weigh in on Sun. morning, after using the bathroom. with my undies on. I record it. If I weighed in more the natural flucuations drive me crazy.
  9. I was banded 11/16/09. I have lost 99 pounds, can't wait to hit that 100 pound mark- hopefully at my weekly weigh in sunday.
  10. I don't crave sweets really. I am missing pizza, chinese food, fried chicken, hot chicken wings dipped in blue cheese. The cravings go almost as fast as they sneak up on me.
  11. I don't really have any answers for you. I think that's good your going in to see your doc. Just tell them what's been going on and they will know what to do. Good luck!
  12. Thanks for the info- I was wondering when it started too. I also looked to add it to my list on tivo and couldn't find it yet.
  13. Sounds like you are too tight for sure. That's why your having the acid reflux. You could eat that first night because swelling hadn't occured yet. I would call your doc. right a way and go in for a slight unfill. Until you can get in, you might want to try watered down protien shakes. They have helped me when I was too tight after a fill.
  14. How much and what are you eating? Are you satified with that amount? Are you hungry inbetween meals? It may be that you need a fill. Are you excersising? If not I highly reccomend it. Working out works wonders for weightloss. I think if you provide more information on what your doing people can help you out better. Best Wishes!
  15. It is so tough to be out, away from the routine. You did wonderfull. I hope it shows up on the scale. Keep up the good work!
  16. You are doing awsome! Good for you starting an excersise program so early in your journey. The only thing I would say is my trainer told me to do weights before cardio. Actually, I am not sure why. Maybe ask about it at the gym. Keep up the great work!
  17. Wow you've been through a lot! You have a great attitude despite a few setbacks. Congrats on your weight loss. I hope it's smooth sailing from here on out.
  18. For me, sweets are not something I plan to reintroduce into my eating plan. I consider myself a food addict, along with other addiction problems. I am not good at doing things in moderation. It is some relief to me that I don't have to worry about much or how often I can have certain foods. I will just stay away alltogether. I think everyone has to find a plan that works for them. If you can do sweets in moderation more power to you. Good luck!
  19. vlp1968 replied to a post in a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree it's odd. During the weight loss phase I have eaten very low carb. I plan on introducing "good carbs" when I am maintaining (only 4 pounds to go!). I consider 100% whole wheat pasta a good carb.
  20. I was 6 weeks post op when I got my first fill. It didn't provide me with restriction. That didn't come until my third fill. Best wishes!
  21. A great nsv- keep up the good work!
  22. bnlluvr-You probably have swelling from the surgery. Do your best with the fluids, it will be much easier once the swelling goes down. Congrats on your surgery!
  23. I doubt your band slipped, that usually occurs from vomiting. When the band has slipped you can't keep even water down. Hang in there and try to stick to the plan. It does get easier!
  24. Sounds like your a bit too tight. That's good you called the office- Pbing that much isn't normal. You may want to stick to protien shakes until you get into the office.
