  1. My doc. said you suddenly can't keep anything down. If you can't keep anything down after a fill, then you are too tight. Slippage only happens in 3% of cases.
  2. It is tough at the beggining! Just know it does get better. Restriction will come and you will love your band.
  3. For the most part I only weighed myself once a week, first thing in the morning. Now that I am mainaining I weigh in every day. If I gain 3 pounds or more I plan on doing something about it, probably go on liquids for a few days.
  4. Pilates is great for strengthing your core muscles. However I don't think you burn alot of calories. I would add some cardio.
  5. I think it's borderline realistic. I lost an average of 10 pounds a month in the beggining. Start working out if your not already- it will work wonders toward getting to your goal. Good luck!
  6. I always make a list before I go shopping. I buy just what's on the list. It will get better, you will find it habit to eat the right things.
  7. I agree with all the advice you've gotten. I would add maybe you need a slight unfill if you can't eat enough. Good luck!
  8. You both are doing great! Keep up the good work.
  9. Don't let the questions bother you. They are just determening if you need a fill. I get asked the same questions from a nurse, and then the surgeon before he does a fill. Don't feel discouraged if you don't feel restriction yet, it took me 3 fills to feel any kind of restriction. Good luck on your journey!
  10. Wow- all day is a long time. I had 2 different type of preops- one was at the hospital where they took blood, checked vitals, made sure my pcp had sent everything in they were suppossed to and did a chest x-ray. I also had a few hours of a preop class. They went over what to expect on surgery day and the first couple weeks after.
  11. All the NSV's are so nice to read. I am glad my post caught on.
  12. I am also 10 months out and love my band.
  13. I suggest you start journaling your food intake. It is very helpfull to see it on paper. Keep track of your protien and calories. Also, if your not already, I highly recommend starting an excersise program. Start slow and gradually increase the intensity and/or duration. Also, liquids for 2-3 days may help get you back on track. As others posted, you may need a fill.
  14. I agree- as long as you can keep down liquids I would give ita few days. If protien shakes give you trouble, try watering them down. It has helped me get passed the few days after a fill. Feel better!
  15. You will probably get a fill. Took me 3 fillls to feel any kind of restrction. Good luck!
  16. You are doing awsome! Keep up the good work!
  17. I agree with the benadryl- works wonders on itching.
  18. Fantastic, I am sure if feels great. Keep up the good work!
  19. You are all in what is affectionatly known as bandster hell. The time after surgery, before restriction kicks in. I suggest you guys concentrate on eating the right foods (low fat, low carb) even if the portions are larger than they will be once you have restriction. It took me 3 fills to have any kind of restriction. Just know it will happen.
  20. Good for you! Isn't it nice to see cravings minimize or even go away altogether. Keep up the good work!
  21. My doc. waited 6 weeks. I know it's tough until you get restriction- that's why it's known as bandster hell. Just know it will happen, may take a few fills. After the first one my doc. did them closer together when needed.
  22. I have reached my goal weight! I lost 104 pounds. I am so excited, still can't believe I'm done. I plan to weigh myself everyday and do something if I gain 3 pounds or more. Probably do liquids for a couple days. Thanks for listening, just had to share my good news.
  23. You rock! Keep up the good work!
  24. I have ended up doing liquids for a few days after my last few fills. I had swelling that made me very tight. You want to make sure your not vomiting, as that makes swelling worse. I wouldn't reccomend doing it to increase weight loss. You want to be developing good eating habits that will stay with you through the journey. Good luck!
  25. That's a great way to think about it. I too did weight watchers, love the program, but I just wasn't ready at the time. I am just beggining maintaince so I hope I am in the permanet lifestyle changes.
