how long to wait 1st fill????

Recommended Posts

:glare:Hi everyone. I was filled on 9/3/2010 and at first I got plenty constriction, but after the swelling went down I am hungry and can eat almost as much as before banding. My Dr. said to get first fill in 6-8 weeks later. I am wondering if everyones Dr. said to wait that long? Or, if others are getting their first fill in like 4 weeks.??

I'm wondering how this works also. I go for my first fill on Tuesday and I'm hoping if I need more I can go back in 4 weeks. I really want to get some restriction and see some progress.

My doc. waited 6 weeks. I know it's tough until you get restriction- that's why it's known as bandster hell. Just know it will happen, may take a few fills. After the first one my doc. did them closer together when needed.

My 1st fill was 6 wks post-op. My second fill is scheduled 4 wks later. I feel no restriction after my 1st fill but I knew that might happen. My friends reached their "sweet spot" after 5/6 fills. It is a slow process but I know will get there b4 we know it. Best of luck to everyone.

I was banded on August 24th and am scheduled for my first fill on September 27th. I think it varies a lot depending on your physician. This is a frustrating time because you can eat a little more than initially, but from what I have read and have been told, it is a process and you will eventually get good restriction and this portion will be over with. Hang in there!

My doctor has his patients wait 4 weeks--but does not give any fill at the time of band installation.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
