  1. i cant wait to be under 200 and feel good about shopping. Im still in the plus size section. Am realistic about my goals.I started at 285 and now im 235... lost it in 1 year. now i want to loose 30-40 lbs in the coming year. Would love to be 180bls!! or a size 16 wich ever comes first.

    Congrats!!! and loose the guilt!!

    Are you working out alot?

  2. that is a great goal!! i love taking pic of my kids..and i have tried squating... my knees do not like it. But hopefully when i get down bellow 200lbs it will be all good.

I am still having trouble with what the clock says versus what my body says.. I have to make meals and snack for my kids so i m constantly in the kitchen...i do a lot of testing ;-(

    Anywyas...congrats on reaching you goal!!!!

  3. good for you!!! i know what you mean about sucking it in... or showing you good side.... I have been married for almost 8 years to a wonderfull man that fell in love with me when i was 220lbs.... then we had 3 kids and when i finally decided to look into the Band i was 285!!! But my whole life i was huge compared to all the people around me. it is really hard.

Now i am 235 and hoping to get below 200.

I want to go on a date with my husband where i dont feel occuard ( he is not big) and want to go dancing and not feel people looking at me for the wrong reasons...

ANYWAYS... CONGRATS on stepping out there !!

  4. It has almost been a 1 year for me and i have lost 42 lbs...not much compared to others... I have been keeping a food journal and i have been working out 2-3 times a week...i dont get of the elliptical till it tells me i have burned atleast 400 calories.

One thing you have that i dont, is retriction...i have had 5 fills and i still dont feel much restriction and get hungry between meals....

It took me 10 years to gain 100 lbs and my realistic goal is to loose it in less that 2 years.

I have not lost any significant weight in the last 2 months...im steady and that pisses me off. BUt i keep telling myself that am loosing and try to keep a positive view.

If you do not feel comfortable with the nurse, the go somewhere else. Remember this is a business and you are a costumer.

my guess is that if you start going to the gym...you body will wake up and the weight will come off.

    Best of luck!!!

  5. dito!!! I HAVE 3 SMALL KIDS AND OUT OF THE '5 STUCK MOMENTS' I HAVE HAD... 4 HAVE BEEN FROM GETTING FUSTRATED WITH MY KIDS AT MEAL TIME AND GETTING STUCK WITH WHAT I SWALLOWED WHILE YELLING AT THEM... OUCH! THANKFULLY THE FOOD GOES DOWN AFTER 20-30 MINS. NOW I EAT BEFORE OR AFTER I FEED MY 3 MONSTERS

  6. take it easy... i have had 5 fills and still dont feel much restriction. Everyone is different. I am almost at my 1 year anniv and i have lost about 42 lbs.... not much compared to others in the site BUT i look at it in a positive light. My clothes fit me well, i am shrinking slowly but surely!.

    Best of luck

  7. no flying?!! i understand they dont want you to get on a plane 2 hous after a fill in caseyou are overfilled....but NEVER... yeah righ!

My DR in Boston is really conservative. i have to wait 2 months between fills...maybe that explains why i have (only) lost 42 lbs in11 months

I moved from Miami to Boston and my1st winter i was not prepared for it!! i am now a big believer in HATS to stay warm.

    good luck

  8. take it easy... i Have been stuck at 240lbs for the last 4 months!!! I have had 4 fills and i still have little restriction, but im sure i will get to the sweet spot. It just takes time for some.

YOu will get your 1st fill and u will feel a difference.

My 1 year anniv is Sept 30th and my goal is to loose 10lbs by then so that my total loss will be 50lbs!. doesnt sound like much but it is when you look at "50 lbs bags of rice"...lol

    best of luck!

  9. i had a similar experience with my 6 year old last year... we got on the ride and since the chain/belt could not be buckled we were told to get off...i felt terrible, thankfully her daddy was there and she got to ride.

I have not gone back to the park, but i think i would fit now. I still have about 60lbs to loose but i really want to get there so that i NEVER have to get off a ride because i dont fit.

  10. i Just got a epipsode last weelend wehile eating a slice of ham. it lasted 15-20 mins. My chest got tighght, so i got up and started walking... that wasnt working. I could feel the saliva accumilating in my mouth and i was told it was better to spit it out that to swallow. Yes, you feel like you cant breath and talk, but breathing slow and trying to burp helps. i have never had to vomit...and i hope i never do.

I dont have much restriction so i know that idid not chew that ham enough.

Another thing i noticed is that i get tight when i am stressing or if im sitting at the table with my kids and i am paying attention to them and not my food.

  11. read my blogs... It had been 10 months for me and my fustration has been with not having much restriction, feeling hungry between meals and the scale not moving. I still dont regret it and i know that it may take me longer but i WILL get to my Goal.

    10 months = 40lbs loss

  12. I have not had a Diet Coke in 10 months... i miss it mostly fo the caffeinne. I am not a coffee/tea drinker. but i think if i had a soda today i would not like how blated it makes you...and the burping would last all day!

I love Asian food...i still eat it but i make sure i divide it in 2- 3 portions so thati make sure i dont eat all of it.

I dont have much restriction and so i am going with will power.

I have not had bread ...that i gave up on my own.

Rice i think i will never be able to give up...must be a Latina thing.

Take everyday as a new day... i screw up alot but i dont put myself down.

I have lost 40lbs...not as much as many in this site but i, getting closer to my 1st goal!

I told everyone.... most are supportive, some have become the "food police"

  13. i have had 6 fills and not much restriction... but that is just me. Everyday i wake up and hope i dont get hungry between meals and that i have lost a little....

good luck on the competition and your move

    >>>PRAYING<<<<

  14. I have been banded for 10 months...ost 40 lbs so far. But in the last 3 month i have not lost an oz. Pretty fustrating...since ima going to the gym 3 times a week. My diet is not perfect, i am not into fried food...but i still do like my rice, pasta and crunchy carbs that are so bad. I have almost no restriction (after 6 fills) so i am depending on my will power till i get to the sweet spot i hear so much about.

Take everyday as a NEW day to make choices.

Yesterday you might of eaten crap...but TODAY you will change what you put in your mouth.

We have all had bad eating habbits for years, it is unrealistic to think we can change and be perfect in a short amount of time.

Keep your chin up!! and take it one day at a time.

Remember you have lost 30lbs already...that is great!

My goal is to loose a total of 50lbs by my 1 year anniv in Sept. Doesnt sound like much...but it took me 10 years to gain 100 Lbs, i think it will take me maybe 2 years to loose it

  15. let him get on this site a couple of times... he will see that we all come here to support, to vent, to get motivated.

He needs to be less insecure about the issue of you looseing the weight, he cant be making you feel guilty about this.

I met my husband almost 10 years ago on the Net. it was a big surprise to me..

    I wish you the best.

  16. DITO!!!

HAving high expectations can be a bitch!

I keep telling myself that " it took me 10 years to gain 100 lbs, i cant expect to loose it in 1 year"

I have stopped weighing myself weekly, now i am doing it every 2 weeks.. i dont care so much about #'s on the scale as i do about clothes fitting me right and getting into a size 14 jean someday.

    good luck and chin up!

  17. well the surprise was on me!!!

I met two friends. The last time i saw them one of them was quiet large, even bigger than me.

WEll... i did not recognize the woman walking towards me till she opened her mouth to say hello... OMG!!! it was only half of her!! She lost over 130lbs in the last 2 years. She had the Gastro Bypass and had reached her goal.

I was speechless...and very happy for her. But in my head i was like" why cant i be a skinnymine now"

We talked just a little about the surgery and all because we had to catch up with so much in 2 hours. She looks totally different, i would of never recognized her if we bumped into eachother in the street.

So, i did tell them about my band... it felt ok. But seeing her gave me a new motivation. I added a pic to my album... she is the one in red.

I want to be irrecognisable too!!

    sorry for th spelling..

    Have a great day everone.

Oh yeah... this week im goin to the gym 5 days. to see if it wakes up my body.
