  1. Well it is six months today. When I blogged earlier I did not think about it! I guess I should be very happy that I have lost 65 lbs now. But I keep looking forward, and yesterday is gone, I have today and if God is willing tomorrow. So I will plan on doing better every day from now on, that is really all I can do, cause I can not control the events, happenings of my LIFE, but I Can control how I react to those events and happenings when it comes to food consumption! (Thanks to the LB Surgery)
  2. Wow I am so happy for you. I have heard of the Outpatient surgerys and I think you having your mom there for you was great. I stayed overnight because that is what my surgeon wants. I did feel well enough to go home soon after my surgery and my liver looked great too. They can tell if the Liver is not flat and out of the way, that you did not stick to the pre-op diet! You did great, keep up the good work, you will be slim before long! It feels GREAT! 6 Months out today! 65 lbs down!
  3. Sorry to hear your bad news. Hope you mend well, Sending up a little prayer for you. God is so good~all the time. Strange how one little day can change our lives? But we will find that even in the bad things that happen to us, good things will come from it. The insurance should pay for your bills, it is only right. And compensate you too. You are very pretty, and I like your bike too!
  4. There usually isn't, you just have to monitor the intake, I know it is hard, but I had to decide if I was really "FEELING" hungry or if I just was bored and wanted to eat it because it smelled good or if I had felt like I had been depriving myself of food for awhile and felt I deserved to eat that much. Plan what you will eat for a week out at the time and then it is easier to stay on the plan. Good Luck!
  5. Hope it all comes together for you, I am very excited for you and 6 lbs, Wow, it feels great to drop like that!
  6. :thumbup:ok so it happens! How can we go for the longest time dropping weight, saying NO! to foods we know will sabatog our plan, feeling great, We DID it! And then, one day we DON'T write down the food we ate that day, or we didn't drink enough water, or we ate a SMALL peice of candy or cake or some forbidden fruit that will kill the ketosis! One day leads to the next and we fall into a sloppy habit~but we are busy and there is just no time? (Or we don't make the time~NOW do We?) BUT we are eating the rest of the time right, and we are going to the Gym two to three times a week, and in between LIFE HAPPENS! We don't measure portions, we guage our intake of foods, (they are usually way too much, because our brains are not banded) Can't blame this slip on the Band! Maybe we are in between fills and we are stretching that band too much by consuming too many calories, (even a trip to the Gym will only even the count; so maybe you just stay the same, not lose a lb!) I'm just sayin! Life Happens~that is usually the case, or I know it is with me. NO STRESS! Let's see, The Economy is in a horrible state, I am building a house, about half way to the finish line, decisions, decisions. I am in about two lawsuits; hopefully they will result in getting my major investments back so I don't lose all my retirement! They have been ongoing for about two years now. My youngest daughter just announced that she is getting married this year and I am very happy about that; UNTIL the first planning meeting with future in-laws last night. Looks like a VERY expensive wedding~~~hummmm lets see, now who gets to pay? My house may get put on hold (AGAIN) Extremely HAPPY that my oldest daughter is Pregnant, after trying for 8 years and lots of surgery, etc. We are in a state of Joy over it. Then I find out my Oldest Sons wife is Pregnant too, and both babies are to come in the same WEEK! Wow! Just like Twins and in my family grandbabies come in twos! Two and a half years ago, we got a little girl and a little boy 11 days apart by my two sons! (So how to I be with both at the same time and help out a little? S-T-R-E-T-C-H~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Car is messing up, and it won't be cheap to fix it, AND I am NOT going to trade, cause I don't want the monthly payment! Haven't had it paid off that long~ISN'T THAT THE WAY IT ALWAYS IS? Today is my youngest Grandsons first Birthday and the party is tonight! (Of Course there will be lots of Food!) I ate three or four large bites of ITALIAN CREME CAKE last night! Now I am ridden with GUILT:eek: I did what I taught myself NOT TO DO! I said "Oh Well, I am celebrating my Daughters Wedding!" (And I am worried about money) So have the darn CAKE, it will make you feel better, COMFORT!) It was~FOR A MINUTE! NOW I feel miserable and I can not UNDO it~:frown: Oh if they only had the UNDO button on food like they do in PHOTO SHOP! LOL So today is Friday and TGIF, If it was MONDAY I could start over, RIGHT? WRONG! I am starting over today, I AM GOING to WRITE DOWN all my food today, I AM GOING To only eat Protein for three days, and control the portions! Monday I will check my Ketosis, hopefully I will be there~Then I am going to stay on Mushies for 7 Days, lots of protein, not over 50 grams of carbs or LESS:scared2: I should drop a few lbs with the Start OVER! In spite of it all I am on a good track to healthy~So I am each day on a roller coaster of Happy~Upset, Happy~Upset, Good News, Bad News, Good News, Bad News. Dealing with Husbands trials, childrens trials, Financial trials, Up~Down, Worried about everything from day to day. Spending a lot of time in Prayer, asking God to take this from me. :cool:I thank God that I have had the Lap Band Surgery, and I am going in the right direction, even tho I lose my way and get off the track, I can only look forward now, I WILL NOT GO BACK! If this happens to you, and I may be the only one, but I am just sayin! Get your mind screwed back on, start thinking positively and looking forward and get back with the plan, and you will prevail. 1. Keep the food log. 2. Drink the water.(to flush the fat and keep hydrated) 3. Exercise three times per week. 4. Get that much needed protein. I hope you have a great weekend and a positive week ahead. "Life Happens" We just have to resign to live the LapBand Life~For Life~" I love being thinner and the LapBand Life is the life for me and YOU!

  10. Hope you hear from Tri-Care soon, you will be relieved then, keep up the good work, it will be here before you know it!
  11. I was about your size when I started on the 29th of July, 09, I have lost 64 lbs and I know a lot of inches too, not sure how many, the Dr's office charts me once a month! My goal is also 155, and I have slowed down too, so I go to the gym and I am going to start walking outside two days a week, I like the treadmill, but miss being outdoors and the smells and fresh air help me too. Good luck on your journey, you are well on your way!

Good for you, feels great doesn't it? I am so happy just knowing that this weight will be gone forever and never reappear with our friend the Band!

I have gotten lazy with the counting food every day too, down 64 lbs and stuck. I use Lapband.com for the food count, they have a new JOURNEY on there that also lets you track Mood, weight, etc. Moods do affect our daily intake of food. I heard that people who write down what they eat every day lose weight 50% faster than those who don't.
  14. I can relate to this, My excersise at the gym caused me to lose less this past month, and I gained in inches from building muscle mass, but I think that muscle will increase the fat burning later on. I had osteoarthritis, and some workouts leave me in discomfort, but I too think that will get better with time, and with more weight dropped. A plateau is so DEPRESSING, and it seems like life throws all it can at me with Family etc, during those times. I lose it, find it, lose it, find it. But it better get gone, cause I AM NOT GIVING IN this time darnit! Hang in there with us!
  15. Sooooo Happy for you, sounds like you have a great Dr. I always have liquids for the first 24 hours after a fill, they say it is best, gets me kick started too! You are going to lose a lot of weight and it is so wonderful.
  16. Yes, you know what? It just goes to show that we need help and we get it from one another, when I start to slack or want to eat what I KNOW I shouldn't I can get on here and see those little tickers and I WANT this more than that handful of peanuts, or that peice of cake! It is a wonderful tool. Thanks
  17. Could it be??? Am I addicted to this site??? :sad:Well it certainly seems so! I have to have my daily fix of your smiles at the satisfaction of your changes in your body and the new joy that this walk with the band is taking you. I click on, check for any messages from you, check my blog. Then go straight to see the new pics that have been added. This is a life saving sight that lifts my spirits every day. I admitted it~~~I am addicted to this site!!! I need to have my friends on here to support my efforts and keep me motivated. (Also, A lot of prayer!) I don't know who started this site, but I thank God they did, keep the good blogs coming and the photos too. Have a blessed day.

  19. Good for you, sounds like you are doing great, and what a blessing for you to have a nice fiance. I love water now too, gave up tea as it robs me of my iron and vitamins. Love the protein drinks too. You will do wonderful with the band, just keep that right attitude! God bless you.

Three weeks past I started to eat solid foods again, VERY carefully, I ate less too because I was more satisfied. Three Meals a day, no in-between, got out and started walking every day! Plan the meals to be 70 grams of protein at least per day and you can have more! But no more than 50 grams of carbs. Forget about the Calories and Fat Grams! Just stay low carbs! Like the Adkins diet! You will start to drop the pounds on the fourth or fifth day you will be in Ketosis, (Fat-Burning) I promise this works!!!!
  21. You are so right! I have hit that place right when I want more from myself! But it's ok, it is so not the end of my world but just the beginning.
  22. He is right tho you know! You don't want loose skin hanging everywhere. (Or I didn't) I got to the Gym and started building muscle and toning up and got my stamina up, now I feel great. I have only lost 64 lbs since my surgery on 7-29-2009 but I have dropped many sizes in my clothing lost lots of inches, they count too. And you keep your health. Too fast, you can lose your hair, so keep the protein high in your diet. You look great, so keep it going girl.

  25. Wow, I had Pizza Hut Pizza with my husband yesterday at lunch. But first I had a very large bowl of Salad with limited dressing, then I tried a piece of pizza, (Thin and Crispy Crust) The first piece tasted pretty good, it was hot and cheesy and went down ok, so I tried a few bites of the second piece and yuk, it was getting cold already and I thought about the greasy stuff and almost got sick right there, think that is my last pizza, nothing against Pizza Hut. I do like their salad bar and always ask for pepperoni to put on my salad there, they use to put it on the bar, but don't anymore, so I ask for it!
