  3. I had 10 days of liquid before surgery and 5 days after. It was the hardest thing I have every done in my life. That was one diet I had never tried. Slim fast or Medifast or whatever they are called. Am I ever glad I suffered . edie

  5. It all depends on what I eat and the texture. I think my sweet spot is when I eat a bandster size portion and I am satisfied. I could eat every 2 hours but I am just not interested anymore. At one cookout on the 4th I ate about 6 or 7 grippo bbq chips before meal. I ate about 1/3 bratwurst and 2 rounded tablespoons of baked Beans. Later I ate petite 2 inch by 2 inch of coconut cake. Junk,Protein, protein, junk. For me I am in my sweet spot. I had no desire to eat anymore in that 6 hour period of time. Of course I was sipping on liquid the whole time . edie
  6. Lyndsey, I forgot. I was embarrassed with people seeing me walk. But I told myself I need to be walking no matter what people think. Now these neighbors and people at my gym come up to me and compliment me. I tell them (of course) I have a band but that I walked off HALF of it.
  7. Lyndsey, You say that you are WALKING around the house wondering what to do? I replaced food with exercise. When I did my 30 minutes a day, the scales went down. I did 45 min and the scales became my friend. I never weighed before. I would get weighed at the doctor but I never looked and told the nurse not to tell me. Talk about denial. I had to look at my doctors records to see what my highest weight was. I always like to suggest walk away from your house for 7 minutes and come back. Give it a try. All you have is weight to lose. edie
  8. My maintenance has been wonderful so far. food is an afterthought for me now. Food used to be my number one hobby. I save so much money not getting my stash of Cookies, candy and ice cream EVERYDAY. I would eat my stash every nite and have to go get MORE the next day. Now let me talk about eating out a few times a week. I didn't do McDonalds either. Never was a fast food girl. Cracker Barrel ($15 with tip) and Red Lobster ($ with tip) were may favorites to have lunch at. Hubby never looks at credit card bills thank goodness. Very happy bandster, edie
  9. Welcome, You have the right attitude. Best wishes, edie
  10. I am a control freak. I take medicine for it. I get real grumpy reading threads/chats from bandsters who say "I'm not losing, I am disappointed, I don't know what is wrong ". Lots of helpful/well meaning bandsters or pre bandsters make suggestions . Then those same people say "Well I'm not eating like I should, I'm eating wrong things or too much ,I should be exercising but I'm not". As the old saying goes DUH? Feels good to get this off my chest. I'm ready to get slammed but it is an attitude from bandsters that gets me crazy and :Banane10:. edie

  20. This is a very interesting thread. I am really enjoying reading it. I remember when I reached goal, even though I was weighing myself every 3 to 4 days, when I would get dressed I was always surprised my pants would fit. It was like I was in a dream or something. It took me about 3 weeks to get over the feeling. Now I feel so good because I know everything will fit me. edie
