  1. So sad. We will see them both on Montel in 5 years. edie
  2. Yes I felt this way too. Like I have written before, when I slid into my size 18 jeans, my "problems" went away. Along with my size 20 jeans. I used to think about eating a big ol sandwich. It passed. I am sure time and my new habits helped. I just consider one of my stages. My first one was missing pigging out on a big plate of mexican food. The latest stage has been having self esteem. I really hadn't felt self esteem for so long... I started describing these feeling to my husband and he said "honey , that is self esteem". Wow. I didn't even know what to call it. So just think of a big ol mouth full of food as being a stage. My hardest stage to go thru was doughnuts. I would pass my fav shop on the way to gym. It was a long stage. 3 weeks I think. edie
  3. I switched from food to exercise. I have heard of booze, sex and exercise. I was lucky I guess. edie

  5. Use this time to start a small exercise program for yourself. I started in June 06 walking or swimming for 30 minutes a day. I had to go very slowly because of my knees. edie
  6. Dear Clair, I am so glad you are getting your weight off early in your life. It will make such a difference. I had hardly ANY pain. I guess I was lucky. I really took it easy after surgery. I did not do anything much for 7 days afterwards. edie
  7. I'll just list the top one in each category. Life I feel normal . I feel like I blend in. I don't feel like I stick out because of my size. Relationship I feel like my husband is proud to be with me. He never made me feel otherwise, I know it is different for him now. A good different. Job I am a dog groomer. I let my customers stay while their pet is being groomed if they want. I don't sweat like crazy while I work . It was very embarrassing to me. They knew why their pet and their selves were comfortable with the temperature and I was sweaty. I was fat. edie

  14. Yes I understand. I had anger about this at first. I had to step back and take everyone for face value. I do get treated differently now by strangers. I just try to be gracious and say thank you. I am not a non person now. I felt invisible sometimes before. I don't know how many clerks I would have to remind "I was next" when they would skip over me to a normal size person. EVERYTHING HAS A GOOD AND BAD SIDE. Edie
  15. The percentage I was worried about was my weight going up. I knew with my appetite I was going to be 280 lbs in 2 years. 300 lbs in 2 more years after that. Those percentages scared me. My knees were getting very weak. I could not walk fast enough to walk with friends. At 265 lbs it took me 35 minutes to walk 1/2 mile. NOBODY wanted to walk that slow. edie

  25. I am in my sweet spot. I can eat 1/2 cup. I think it really depends on what the food is. We ate mexican the other nite. I had 2 chips with salsa, a sliver of steak about 3 inches long, spoonful bean, and spoonful of rice. I can eat 2 saltines slathered with cream cheese comfortably. A third saltine pushes it. edie
