  16. Please get yourself out of mom mode. After your surgery do NOT PUSH YOURSELF. While you cannot sleep get all your laundry done. Give yourself some rest days. I'm not a mom. I sure this will be hard to do. Will anybody keep your kids for at least 2 days after surgery. This is my advice to you. Give your body a chance to heal. I am self employed so I gave myself 7 days after surgery to rest up. I am childless too so all I did was the minimal . Duties you can't get out of or not if possible let your body heal. good luck, edie
  17. I'm cheap. So I went into sharing right away. When I go out with friends I just let them order and pretend to want what they want. I won't eat that much so it doesn't really make a difference. I am out for the company not food. It took about 5 months before I made lunch dates. Right from the start with hubby we would get into situations that we had to eat out. After first meal I ordered for myself and I wasted it , we went into the "what are WE gonna eat " mode and just negotiate meals. We went to Texas Roadhouse the other night. He ordered the 16 oz cowbory cut steak (lol) and I ordered grilled shrimp as a side. I enjoyed bread, steak fry, steak and shrimp. It was a very good meal full of variety. Couldn't even try a dessert. My band is wonderful. edie
  18. Follow the rules. I know this liquid period is so HARD. It will be so worth it. edie
  19. Laurend, I guess this is where I should post this comment (don't attack me lol) but I like you because you are opinionated and outspoken. You're a firecracker Laurend. I just know you are gonna kick ass with your band. The voyeur in me can't wait for your band. Just think what your body will be like in 6 months! edie
  20. Welcome to bandland! Your journey so far has been good. Best wishes and remember sip and eat slowly. edie
  21. JP, You have reason to be excited. You are determined and you won't let these bumps in the road stop you. All good things are worth waiting for. I'm a glass half full person. Sometimes when things like this happen I think it is the universe testing you. Jp how bad do you want this? JP how willing are you to work with your band? JP do you want sodas or do you want to be a smaller person worse? During this waiting time , think about your future. Pre ipod days I would use my time while I was walking to think about my goals and what I would do to reach them. Best wishes, edie
  22. Phil Specter. I want something interesting on Court TV while I do housework. I am sorry for the family of the women killed . edie
  23. Six Feet Under ending was wonderful. It was such a funny show too. Black humour. It was sad to see it go too. Sometimes shows just want to end being on top. I'm looking foward to new season of Big Love starting. edie
