  4. Just fix what you don't like . Things your guests would like but you can take it or leave it. Just a suggestion. Promise it gets easier. I am not tempted by anything anymore. Eating now is like brushing my hair and teeth each day. edie
  5. I loved Julie's post too. My deciding point for me was I KNEW myself. I was going to yo yo diet myself into a stroke or heart attack. I felt to say my life or of being a cripple (not a pc term for sure) I had to take the risk with the band. My hubby kept asking was I sure because he knew I loved to eat. I told him I have ate everything I have ever wanted to eat and I was tired of eating. I was tired of the control food had over me. I control food now . I am banded woman! edie
  6. I didn't have to do it. I did have the AWFUL and hardest thing (I had ever done food wise in my life) liquid diet for 10 days before. Just curious, edie
  7. I always hated that I had to check where I could sit to see if it would support me. I NEVER wanted to break a chair. Sometimes I would just stand and well meaning friends would say sit, sit. I would finally have to tell them why . I was ok with admitting it but I think they were embarrassed then. edie
  8. Sorry that it not going the way you want it to. Are you counting calories? drinking about 64 oz liquid? exercising? Give it your ALL. best wishes, edie
  9. I am 48 years old but cannot get into breakfast. I know it is good for me. I wish this is a habit I could develop. Laura 23 more lbs and you will really REALLY tell a difference . Keep up the good work and thank you for this educational post, edie
  10. For me I always wondered if it was my little stomach or big stomach. I had that tiger in my tank too. edie
  11. Friend to friend I would say with the Protein you will be fine. Medically I cannot say. edie
  12. I saw a segment on Headline news tonight of Kevorkian getting out and he looks good. He was really smiling. The newcast said he has agreed not to assist anyone else but his views have not changed. The newscast also said he is Larry King's guest Monday June 4 2007. I plan on watching it. edie
  13. Kym, You are awesome. I am so glad you are here. I look foward to your future posts. edie

I want Jack character as my husband and Sawyer as my secret lover. In my dreams that is. Hugo in real life has a very attractive wife. Yeah for the woman who can see past the extra weight. I like Hugo's hair too. That Juliet character is a sneaky snake. As for Meikel maybe the writers have a thing for an eye patch. Mysterious and sexy (?). I gonna love this thread. edie
  15. When I started hating my scales again I started counting my calories. I stopped at around 1100. If I was still hungry I would fill up on sf popsicles. Best of luck, edie

I think Sawyer is so hot!!! What is anyone's thoughts about "Jacob" ? I'm stumped. edie s
  17. I know this is hard to believe but I switched my thinking about food all the time to exercise. I would get a high from it . It would make the scales go down which would get me high too. It could happen for you too!? Best wishes, edie
  18. Ross I hope I can help with the heartburn . I still get heartburn if I eat too fast. I had to learn to eat slowly, not a snails pace but thoughtfully. Best wishes, edie
  19. I love your thread. I too was concerned. When my reg md was so impressed by my lab test numbers and approved me from anywhere in 140 to 160 I was so relieved. My husband and even told me if he wants you to get down to 130 the doctor and hubby were going to have problems. I am diabetic . I have went from 12 pills and 2 shots to just 2 pills a day. I take hormone ( just first 12 days ) and anti depressant now. No more shots . Woo hoo. I want to think that even being young you will get blood work done every year or whatever your md doctor suggests. edie
  20. If your doctor doesn't like lap band try lap-band.com to find a doctor in your area . It is the website for the company that makes the band. That is how I found a surgeon the company recommended. edie
  21. I have my fingers crossed (in my mind) for you Larend that you don't have to delay your surgery. edie
  22. I REALLY feared this too. I was almost at goal in Feb 07 and have not gained back. I still get very full and hate that heart burn feeling. I avoid it and sometimes I think I quit eating too soon. My tastes have changed too. I have had a pan of bro****s on my counter with Ger*** ******** icing and have not had one. Whodathunkit? edie
  23. 15 lbs!! Almost a 20 lb bag of dog food. Heavy. Be proud . I was proud at 20,40, 50 was a big milestone. When I had lost 90 I wondered JUST HOW did I carry that around. Best wishes, edie
  24. I haven't had a headache since banding.. weird huh? I have been meaning to buy some Dr goody's headache powder. I have seen it at Walmart. Oh goody a reason to go to Walmart. I'm adding it to my list. edie
  25. I can Water , pull weeds , go visit with neighbors outside and not break a sweat. I even sit outside in the shade (of course) and read. Before I would have to shower if I wanted to go anywhere else. It was like a workout. I even made a comment to my hubby about something I noticed and asked is that normal? He said well honey you didn't spend much time outside before. I missed out but not anymore. edie edie
