  1. My gym buddy (new friend as of july 06) lives with an illegal alien . What blew my mind is he has a tax id number , pays taxes and even files taxes and gets a refund. WTF? edie
  2. I would feel like she really cares about me. I would think you two will have to agee to disagree on this one. When you are slim and healthy she will come around. edie
  3. I began exercising about 6 weeks before surgery. I could only walk very slowly at first. 1/2 mile in 35 minutes. My knees would hurt . One day I would swim slowly for about 30 minutes. Next day walk. This is my suggestion to you. edie
  4. There are really clever people in here. I just wonder about them sometimes. Always enjoy. I am loosing up. That kitty litter cake was over the top . I don't think I could eat it. Well maybe I could. edie
  5. I too heard negative comments. Now I am having the last laugh . edie
  6. I happened to reach my goal in the same month I needed my new drivers licence. AlL I can say is for the first time I really like my picture and I look happy in it. I always hated pictures before. edie
  7. Ryan, I agree with the above posters. I had 5 plateaus in my 8 months. One lasted a month. My person that is assigned to me at the gym told me to exercise harder to get past a plateau. She suggested walking a little faster. Then go back to my normal pace. I would walk a faster lap then 2 at regular pace. Good luck, edie
  8. Mary Pat, You go girl!! Take charge. I did have to take 12 pills and 2 shots a day . Now I take my anti depressant and hormone. Neither are weight related. edie
  9. I can eat toasted bread. Sometime I cut the crusty part of rolls and eat that too. edie
  10. J2, With lots of sf liquids, LOTS of exercise and following about 1000 - 1100 calories a day I lost 105 lbs in 8 months. I started with 30 minutes of walking or swimming slowly and built up to about 2 hours of walking a day. I now do about 2 miles a day. edie
  11. Yah Kim, The lobster (yumm) will be fine. The carbonation is what is bad about the soda. It is hard I had diet mountain dew withdrawl. Then when I put those size 18 jeans on my withdrawls disappeared with the lbs. good luck, edie
  12. I use the accountability idea by Dr Phil. I used "no TV until my exercise is done". Good luck , edie
  13. Carol, I got chills reading your post. I am so happy for you. I know you have reallly felt better for months now. I felt good about myself for at least 2 months before I reached my magic number. edie
  14. Love all by AC/DC ,the Rolling Stones,ZZ TOP, and Prince. Like a lot by Kid Rock and Ludacris. edie "it's only rock n roll but I like it" "rock n roll ain't noise pollution" "she loves my automobile"

  17. Blair.com has cute clothes for large size people for low prices. Check them out. I think you would need to be at least 25 years old. Some of the young people might find cute capris, etc. edie

  19. edieparks posted a topic in Rants & Raves
I was reading over my boylove post and it I became curious about bandsters and abortion. I am PRO abortion but I don't like abortion . I would never have (I don't think) an abortion. I feel like the person who has one, has to live with it FOREVER, so they should be able to decide for themselves. just my opinion edie
  20. Tootall, This is how it was for ME. 17500.00 self pay. Louisville Ky 2 hours away. 2 days after surgery I had just slight discomfort when I would bend down for something. I waited 7 days after surgery to start walking 1/2 mile per day. edie
  21. Stacy, LOL. Stop buying it. lol No really, can you try to buy and acquire a taste for lower calorie ice cream. I ate a lot of sf banana Popsicle from Krogers and a lot of low calorie fudge bars. Then eventually I would eat fruit bars. Also make yourself accountable as Dr Phil says. Just tonight I told my husband something I wanted to do 3 times a day. Nothing dirty. tee hee I told him if when he came home from work tomorrow I had not done it twice I could not watch ANY night time TV . I could not record it either. Believe me unless I go mad tomorrow I plan on keeping my end of the deal. I am scared but excited because I know this has worked for me in the past with exercise. Hope this helps, edie
  22. I always have felt I knew the difference. Just to name a few..... I knew I could walk anywhere I wanted too . "They" cant. There was usually a chair I could sit in. "They" don't go sometimes because there will not be a chair that will hold them. I usually could sit in a booth, maybe not comfortably but I could. "They" can't do a booth. My heart always hurts a little bit when I would see a super size person. I knew I was that person inside but just hadn't got there yet. I knew they were brave to get out even if if was on a scooter. I knew they probably got gawked and laughed at when they were at a grocery store. They probably even get comments made loud enough for them to hear. I never heard them because I would have marched my 276lb over to them and gave the offenders a piece of my 276lb mind. I'm the one who will help them reach for something they couldn't reach while I was in the same isle for them. I know food addiction is an ADDICTION. I will always be a foodaholic but my band gets me full. I think I am on a clear path now. My gym buddy who has lost about 25 lbs and I am proud for her even though she is still at 250 says I am one of them (skinnys) now not one of us (big women). I may look normal size to the world now but I say I am only a band away from being obese again. edie
  23. Dear Jasgot and Tandern, Oh dear! Your question (s) are tough ones. I will attempt to answer the first one I came to in your post. " If I follow all the rules of banding and don't lose weight, is that possible?". No and yes. In my 8 months I lost 105 lbs. I also had 5 plateaus! One lasted almost a month. I was doing the same routine mostly. I was able to exercise longer as I became more able. I ate around the same amount of calories (1000-1100) and drank about the same amount of liquids (4 20 ounces). I was depressed when I would get on the scales and they hadn't budged. I have read everything about plateaus. Your body hanging on because you are losing.... it didn't make me feel any better. Nothing is an instant fix. I should not have jumped on the scales so much but just try to keep me off them. edie
  24. I bought a book before surgery. WLS (weight loss surgery) for dummies. It suggested not to treat every meal like my last. That made a lot of sense to me. I did eat at and all I wanted at my 3 fav restaurants before surgery. Little did I know that at 8 months post surgery I went back to each fav restaurant and ate. Band style but nevertheless . I thought they were gone for good for me. Nonsense. edie
  25. Mary Thumbs up for the BBQ flavored soy crisps. My knees went weak . I love them. Has anybody tried the Progresso Chicken Cheese Enchilada soup? I found mine at Walmart . I pms faith and ask her to let us know where the "true" products can be found. edie
