I new at it all!

I am new to the boards, I am also 8 days away from surgery. I am scheduled for May 16, 2007. I can't wait. I am so excited. My doc has me on a "liquid diet" 2 days before surgery. His nurse said it doesn't necessarily have to be clear liquid's though; a shake would be okay. I was just wondering if anyone had pointers or advise or words of wisdom or whatever!!!

Welcome to the board! Wow! Only 2 days of liquids. Well you will have plenty of time post op for liquids. I read everything I could on lapband & scoured this board like crazy. Try to stick to the diet as much as possible. It will help in your recovery. Good Luck!

I bought a book before surgery. WLS (weight loss surgery) for dummies. It suggested not to treat every meal like my last.

That made a lot of sense to me. I did eat at and all I wanted at my 3 fav restaurants before surgery.

Little did I know that at 8 months post surgery I went back to each fav restaurant and ate. Band style but nevertheless .

I thought they were gone for good for me. Nonsense.

Thanks everyone, I am so nervous and excited at the same time. I can't wait to look around the boards when I have more time.
